AMGA Announces Partnership with Hestra

October 5, 2016

Boulder, Colo. (October 5, 2016) – American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) announces its newest partner Hestra, a Colorado-based and Sweden-born glove manufacturer. For 80 years Hestra has supplied gloves to mountain athletes worldwide.

“AMGA guides serve clients across a variety of conditions and terrain,” said Dana Richardson, strategic partnership manager for AMGA. “Hestra’s product collection will enable safe mountain travel in any season and weather.“

Hestra is committed to quality and tests their product in mountain environments like the Colorado Rockies where AMGA is also based. The Hestra brand is a 4th generation, family owned company.

“Hestra works with athletes globally who test and help shape the glove making process for rock, snow and ice pursuits,” said Tristan Hobson, Hestra USA marketing manager. “This input  allows us to develop the best gloves in the world.  Our gloves provide warmth, protection, and dexterity in the mountains no matter the season.”

AMGA/IFMGA Mountain Guide Joe Thompson has firsthand experience with Hestra. “Guides will enjoy the durable construction and pre-curved finger design which allows the hand to relax in a resting position,” Thompson said. “My favorite glove is Hestra’s Ergo Grip Descent. It is a midweight glove with natural dexterity. My hands are able to operate naturally at a high output while still maintaining protection from the elements.”
