Archer Components offers Demo of Electronic Shifting Conversion at Outerbike

August 14, 2019

DemoWorx to provide D1x-equipped demo bikes at Crested Butte event for free test ride; one tester will win free conversion kit

Scotts Valley, California (August 14, 2019) — Riders who’d appreciate the benefits of electronic shifting, but without the huge expense, will have the opportunity to try out the Archer Components D1x electronic shifting conversion kits that have changed the paradigm of electronic shifting. Teaming with DemoWorx, Archer will offer four demo bikes set up with the system available to the public at this weekend’s Outerbike event in Crested Butte, Colorado, August 16-19.

Then, following the event, the brand will be giving away a free D1x package ($389 value) to test riders: Everyone who demos a D1x-equipped bike at Outerbike will be automatically entered into the drawing. The drawing will be held on August 22 on Archer’s Instagram page: @ArcherComponents

“People are always really excited when the see or read about our shifting system, but when they can actually try it out on a display or actual bike, that’s when the magic happens,” says Devin Carlson Founder, “That’s why we’re stoked to be working with DemoWorx to provide that experience at Outerbike. First timers are mostly blown away by the low cost versus how well it works – that’s when they say ‘I could actually afford a major upgrade with the D1x.’”

The D1x system, which will work on virtually any mountain bike (or flat-bar bike), replaces the stock shifter unit and cable/housing from the existing drivetrain with a push-button remote and electronic shifter which mounts easily anywhere on the rear of the bike. The e-shifter unit connects directly with the existing derailleur, with just a few inches of cable, and shifts the derailleur at the touch of the remote buttons.

Not only does the product offer riders the convenience of e-shifting, the system is also highly customizable when used with the free mobile app, and it offers extremely precise shifting: The movement of the rear derailleur can be dialed for each individual cog with micro adjustments down to a quarter of a millimeter – and this can even be done on the fly directly from the remote unit on certain packages.

DemoWorx– a mobile, multi-brand demo and sales operation that also hosts their our own mini-expo style events – will provide four units for demo, including bikes from Alchemy, Prophecy and Eminent. Visitors can also check out the hands-on, motorized drivetrain display in the tent to see exactly how the D1x system works. Visitors hoping to see this system for themselves should just look for the blue DemoWorx tent and flags.
