Arc’teryx Closes 2021 With 21 Global Retail Openings

January 12, 2022

With store openings in the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan and China, Arc’teryx looks back at a 15% retail growth in 2021.

NORTH VANCOUVER, Canada, January 12, 2022 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Arc’teryx Equipment, the global design company specializing in technical high-performance apparel and equipment, opened 21 stores internationally in the past 12 months. In addition to brand stores carrying the complete collection of Arc’teryx apparel and equipment, Arc’teryx celebrated the first ReBird Repair and Service Center in New York with plans to establish more service centers as the brand expands its ReBird circularity initiatives in the year ahead.

“As each Arc’teryx store opens, we get clarity on what the community is looking for when it comes to product, experiences, and education,” said Delaney Schweitzer, Chief Commercial officer. “In 2021, our stores hosted over 37,000 guests participating in community events, both virtual and in-person, from running to climbing and circular design. We will continue to open stores by using consumer insights, in-depth community input, consideration of nearby amenities in core sports, and listening to our team on the ground to determine where we open and how to best serve our guests.”

In Canada, the brand opened new stores in Calgary, Westmount and Laval bringing the total number of Arc’teryx stores in Canada to 16.

In November, Arc’teryx opened a new flagship location in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. Arc’teryx Rush Street features the first System of Dress Engage Zone, where customers can learn about the layering systems and how complimentary products work together. The store also has a workshop table with colour tuning lights, and a digital mirror designed to help guests better understand product features and colours. Inside the store, local artist, Nikko Washington, painted a mural celebrating Arc’teryx’s connection to Chicago.

“Community is the key for success in retail,” said Stephanie Jamieson, Community Director, Arc’teryx. “Whether it’s providing the best gear and product advisors at our stores, offering the opportunity to learn new skills through community events, or supporting local leaders to share their knowledge and passion for the outdoors, our store locations exist to support the community. The stores also educate quests on how to extend the lifetime of their products through care & repair; they also encourage guests to keep their gear in play longer via our Used Gear program.”

Arc’teryx has moved to source 100% renewable electricity for the operation of all stores worldwide.

Arc’teryx is currently operating 159 brand stores in community-driven retail locations throughout the world. The stores provide gathering places for product education in climbing, hiking, running and snow sports along with hosting community events lead by our over 200 Arc’teryx store ambassadors – encouraging guests to get outside and experience Arc’teryx products.
