BCA releases Send and Return education videos focused on snowmobile-accessed skiing

Boulder, Colo. (JANUARY 7, 2021) — Backcountry Access (BCA) is releasing two avalanche education videos focusing on snowmobile-accessed backcountry skiing. These videos, targeted at new users, are well-timed with the explosion in popularity of snowmobiling and backcountry skiing prompted by Covid-19. The first video, “Getting the Goods Without Getting Buried” addresses terrain selection and group management. The second video introduces snowmobilers to the important topic of human factors in the backcountry decision-making process.
Jack Beighle, Marketing Coordinator at Backcountry Access notes, “As the backcountry continues to erupt in popularity, it’s more important than ever for both skiers and sledders to have the tools and build the skills to have a safe, fun-filled, day in the mountains. These videos are a great launching point for a new rider to dive into their avalanche education.”
The two videos are part of BCA’s Send and Return education series that features BCA athletes and ambassadors hitting rowdy terrain responsibly: planning and riding according to the avalanche conditions. The new videos feature BCA sled ambassadors Will Mook and Matt Schebaum (https://www.themountainridinglab.com) and pro skier Sam Schwartz as they explore sled-accessed terrain in Wyoming’s Snake River Range. Cinematography and editing were performed by Justin Mayers of Westbank Media.
