Black Diamond Equipment Appoints Kasey Jarvis as Creative Director for the Brand

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (March 12, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Black Diamond Equipment, Ltd., a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative, high performance outdoor equipment, apparel and footwear, has appointed Kasey Jarvis as Creative Director for the Brand.

“We are excited to announce that Kasey is coming back to Black Diamond again,” states Neil Fiske, Brand President for Black Diamond Equipment. “He is an industry veteran with tremendous experience in design, development and brand leadership. He has worked for a diverse range of brands including General Motors, Nike and Under Armour in addition to nine years at Black Diamond Equipment as VP of Design and Product. Kasey’s experience, knowledge and understanding of Black Diamond will allow us to refine our design aesthetic and strengthen the BD brand identity with the communities and sports we serve.”

Jarvis most recently served as Chief Design and Development Officer at Under Armour, Inc. where he led efforts to establish visual Design Identity and Brand DNA as well as driving Circular and Sustainable Design Principles and practices.

During his first tenure at Black Diamond, Jarvis was integral in creating many successful products and categories including the Vapor and Vector climbing helmets, in-house ski graphic creation, ultralight ski poles and the launch of rock climbing footwear. In his new role, Jarvis will lead overall design strategy for the brand, including its apparel, equipment and footwear product categories. He will report to Fiske.

Jarvis is the latest addition to a growing list of former Black Diamond employees who have returned to the brand during the last year. This includes Doug Heinrich as Vice President of Product, Heath Christensen as Vice President of North American Sales, Roger Strong as Director of Specialty Sales, Julie Hirsch as Business Unit Director for Apparel and Josh Dees as Vice President of Information Technology.

Jarvis is a passionate backcountry skier and climber as well as an award winning innovator, tinkerer and creative problem solver. He received his B.F.A. in Industrial and Product Design from Brigham Young University in 2000.
