PETALUMA, Calif. (March 24, 2022) – CamelBak®, the global leader in award-winning personal hydration products, launches new and redesigned mountain bike packs as part of its Spring 2022 collection. These new models include the M.U.L.E.® Evo 12, M.U.L.E.® 12 and Lobo™ 9 packs, as well as the Podium® Flow™ 4 hydration belt, which all blend premium eco-friendly materials with mountain bike-specific features to create the perfect bag for any and all cycling adventures. This new collection is available now at www.camelbak.com.

“Over 30 years ago, CamelBak invented the very first personal hydration reservoir, purpose-built from an IV bag and a tube sock to carry water during a  hot cycling race in the Texas desert. Since then, we have worked relentlessly to innovate and evolve our bike hydration packs to provide our users with everything they need for a great day on the bike,” says Jeffrey Tomasi, senior product manager at CamelBak. “With interest in cycling continuing to grow due to the myriad of benefits it provides for health and wellness, we feel it is our responsibility as a leader in the industry to continue bringing new and exciting features to our mountain bike collection so that riders of all levels can hit the singletrack.”

The M.U.L.E.® Collection Evolves

The original M.U.L.E. hydration pack was introduced in 1996 and quickly became a staple among the mountain bike community. Since then, the pack has evolved into a family of bags built to meet the demands of mountain bike progression and has remained one of CamelBak’s top selling collections. Designed for self-supported trail rides, M.U.L.E. stands for “medium to ultra-long endeavors.”

For Spring 2022, two new packs join the collection, the M.U.L.E. 12 (MSRP $120) and M.U.L.E. Evo 12 (MSRP $140). Both packs deliver the quality that CamelBak fans know and trust, while introducing elevated, innovative features for even more performance. Both packs are made from recycled materials and without the use of harmful chemicals.

The redesigned M.U.L.E 12 builds upon the tried-and-true reputation of the original M.U.L.E. to deliver the perfect 12-liter hydration pack. Designed to carry 3 liters of water and all of the essentials for a long day on the trail, the new M.U.L.E 12 has been updated with an improved body-mapped fit as well as a super-comfortable new Air Support™Back Panel with 3D ventilating mesh on the shoulder straps. A removable hip belt provides versatility in varied riding scenarios, while ample internal pockets and an expandable external overflow pocket deliver plenty of storage.

Meanwhile, the all-new M.U.L.E. Evo 12 takes a unique approach to mountain bike hydration pack design by utilizing features such as fully weatherproof construction and a vest-style harness to deliver a purpose-built pack for serious cycling adventures. The new 12-liter pack carries 3 liters of water and everything needed for a day-long adventure on the bike in a streamlined package.

The Lobo 9 Gets a Makeover

With shorter adventures in mind, riders should look no further than the redesigned Lobo 9 (MSRP $100). This nimble yet versatile hydration pack carries 2-liters of water and is designed to seamlessly transition from cycling to hiking to everything in between.

The Lobo 9 shares many of the same features as its larger siblings in the M.U.L.E. family, such as lightweight, breathable materials, a removable hip belt  and integrated storage pockets.

Additionally, the M.U.L.E. 12 and Lobo 9 are available in a women’s-specific fit  that features S-curved shoulder straps and a contoured construction for a woman’s frame. Both the unisex and women’s-specific models are made with recycled materials and utilize safer chemicals to reduce impact, preserve resources and diminish disposable gear.

A New Hip Belt Joins the Cycling Collection

When going out for a quick ride and all that’s needed are the essentials, the Podium Flow Belt 4 (MSRP $55) is the perfect  minimalist option. This comfortable hip belt includes a 21-ounce Podium Dirt Series water bottle that fits right in the center of the belt for easy access with either arm while riding. Couple this with the ventilating air mesh along the back panel, compartmentalized storage pockets and the use of recycled materials, and you have a perfect do-it-all hip pack for your next cycling adventure.
