Co2uT Announces Salsa Cycles as Title Sponsor

June 2, 2020

General registration is now open to all.

FRUITA, CO — Desert Gravel is proud to announce Salsa Cycles as the title sponsor of Co2uT gravel race for 2020 and 2021. The inaugural event (scheduled for October 10th, 2020) travels around and across the Colorado-Utah borderlands and is officially open to all for registration.

“Our event aligns perfectly with the Salsa brand and their mantra: ‘Adventure by Bike’. Just like us they believe riding bikes is more than just pedaling, or going fast. We believe our event will build community, solidify relationships, and give our riders an amazing experience,” said Event Director, Morgan Murri. “And we’re so pleased to have Salsa on board for all of it.”

The 1,000 gravel race participants will have 5 “amazing experiences” to choose from. Named after the dinosaurs that once roamed the area, the Co2uT courses range from the 30-mile “Fruitaden” up to the 190-mile ‘Allosaurus’ / a.k.a. “The BIG Monster”. Each including the unique terrain and stunning views of the Grand Valley.

Through their women’s-only pre-registration promo, the Co2uT already has 200+ women registered: an excellent start to achieving their goal of a 50/50 gender field split (which would be the highest percentage of female participants in a US gravel event yet). “Salsa Cycles is thrilled to partner with Co2uT in providing an inclusive atmosphere for gravel riders to savor the unmatched terrain on the Western Slope of Colorado,” said Lindsay Beltchenko, Marketing Manager for Salsa Cycles.

In addition to the race itself, the folks at Desert Gravel and Salsa are doing all they can to make this event a success for all participants. On the virtual side, they’re offering complimentary training plans, coaching opportunities, and video tutorials / virtual tours. When COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift, they will be offering small group recon rides and camps for all levels; from beginners to folks who have successfully raced some of the most challenging gravel courses in existence.

Though rolling out a new event during COVID-19 presents its challenges, participants can register with confidence for the Co2ut with Desert Gravel’s industry-leading registration and refund policy. As a Team Evergreen event, the proceeds from the event will go to local non-profits within the host community. For more information visit www.teamevergreen.org.
