The 120-year-old brand continues to support Moosejaw's online, brick-and-mortar channels
LONGMONT, Colorado – Deuter USA today announced that it will not participate in Walmart’s new premium outdoor online store, curated by Moosejaw.
As part of a trial arrangement, Deuter products were present on the site at the time of its August 27, 2018 launch. All Deuter products are expected to be removed within the next week.
While we appreciate the concept of what Moosejaw is trying to accomplish with this new initiative, we have decided this is not the right time to participate.” said Deuter USA President Bill Hartrampf.
Deuter’s 10-year relationship with Moosejaw remains intact, and the brand will continue to support Moosejaw’s brick-and-mortar and online channel.
“We are constantly evaluating and supporting ways to provide the best products and services to specialty outdoor consumers, wherever they are,” said Hartrampf. “We will always maintain Deuter’s commitment to our core markets, premium quality and the spirit of outdoor recreation.”
With 120 years of pack building experience, Deuter has played a vital role in mountaineering history: Deuter backpacks have proved their worth under extreme conditions on numerous expeditions, from the first ascent of the north face of the Eiger by Anderl Heckmair in 1938, to the 8,000-meter peak climbs of Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner today. Among its numerous innovations was the first ventilated tensioned mesh back system, the first bike-specific backpack and a complete women’s range – all details of the SL packs are engineered for the female anatomy. From backpacking to bike commuting, from alpinism to travel and including an entire child-carrying and family line, Deuter creates a better and more comfortable pack.
