Backcountry Magazine Dishes Out Honors Ahead of 2021-22 Winter Season

BOULDER, CO (August 2021) – Dynafit, a global leader in innovation in competitive ski mountaineering, will head into the new 2021-22 winter season celebrating a quartet of accolades from Backcountry Magazine for the company’s acclaimed Dynafit Radical Pro touring boot, Blacklight Women’s 88 Skis, Blacklight+ Binding and Free Infinium Hybrid Pant.

Backcountry Magazine bestowed a Gear Guide Editor’s Choice award on the Dynafit Radical Pro, a pro ski touring boot that is tailored perfectly for the needs of all-round ski tourers. With its new boot-fitting concept with optimized tongue construction and the award-winning Hoji Lock System’s integration, the Radical Pro embodies the perfect balance between entry, climbing, and downhill comfort. Equipped with the much-lauded Hoji Pro prior model features, the Radical Pro has quickly established itself on the market as a comfortable, yet light and sturdy multi-talented boot.

“The Radical Pro felt awesome out of the box and walked and skied like a dream,” the Backcountry Magazine reviewers wrote. “Great fit, great performance and so comfy I’d wear them to the bar.”

“We’re stoked that the new Radical Pro boot has won Backcountry Magazine’s Editors’ Choice Award,” said professional freeskier Eric “Hoji” Hjorleifson. “This confirms the positive observations from numerous testers last season. Excellent fit combined with great skiing and walking performance. We’re honored to be a part of this project.”

Backcountry has also featured the Blacklight Women’s 88 Skis, Blacklight+ Binding, and Free Infinium Pant in its latest Gear Guide. The Blacklight Women’s 88 offer convincing performance on alpine terrain and in all snow conditions as a light, versatile, high-end Speed touring ski and weigh barely 1,140 grams (at 172 cm) with a waist of 88 mm, making it the lightest all-round ski from Dynafit.

“For such a small and lightweight design, these skis were little ninjas ready to kick ass in gravity-defying ways,” the Backcountry Magazine reviewers wrote of the Blacklight Women’s 88 Skis. “Shined on scoured, variable and windblown snow surfaces.”

Part of Dynafit’s Freeride inspired collection, the Free Infinium Hybrid Pants are touring pants designed with windproof GORE-TEX INFINIUM material and Dynastretch inserts throughout. With a relaxed cut, this water repellent and wind resistant pant is highly breathable without sacrificing its weather resistant technology. Weighing in at 590g, these pants include taped seams, ventilation zips and a snow gaiter to keep things breathable on the uphill and snow out on the downhill.

“We’re really proud of the hard work and dedication our product managers and extended team of contributors have brought to this year’s collection. It truly is a passion-driven team committed to making everyone’s day in the mountains the best possible experience,” Herr said. “Receiving this award from the hard-testing team at Backcountry Magazine is the icing on top!”
