Farm to Feet introduces Jennifer Pharr Davis signature sock for Spring 2019

July 18, 2018

Mt. Airy, North Carolina (July 18, 2018) — Jennifer Pharr Davis stormed onto the national scene in 2011 when she set the Fasted Known Time on the Appalachian Trail and was named National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year.  She has since written four books, had two children, and continued to grow her Asheville-based guiding service, Blue Ridge Hiking Company.  Now she can add sock design to her resume.

For spring 2019, Farm to Feet introduces the Blue Ridge hiking sock designed in collaboration with Pharr Davis.  The Blue Ridge pays homage to Pharr Davis’ hiking company, home mountains, and favorite stretch of the longest hiking-only footpath in the world.

“There are few people with Jen’s experience and she has designed a sock that captures her love for the trail,” said David Petri, Farm to Feet VP of marketing.

The Blue Ridge is a lightweight three-quarter crew sock based off of Davis’ favorite hiking sock, the Damascus.  Knit on 200 needle machines with 19.5 micron US Merino wool, the Blue Ridge features Farm to Feet’s 3D-Active Knit Technology which creates complex multi-dimensional patterns that provide exceptional ventilation and cushioning while minimizing bulk and weight.

“For me, the Damascus is the perfect hiking sock, and I knew when I began working on the Blue Ridge that I wanted to use its foot design,” said Pharr Davis.  “On the trail its often just you, your thoughts, and your surroundings and the Blue Ridge captures the beauty of these moments.”

The design on the leg of the sock features the silhouette of a lone hiker among mountains and trees with a rising sun in the background.

Davis will be signing copies of her latest book, Pursuit of Endurance, in the Farm to Feet booth (53117-UL) at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Denver, CO, on Monday July 23, from 12-1pm.  Copies of Pursuit of Endurance will be available for purchase for $10, with proceeds of sales going to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.  With each copy of the book, attendees will also receive a pair of Blue Ridge socks, while supplies last.
