Fast Company Names SPY+ Optic Happy Boost to Next Big Thing in Tech List

November 21, 2022

Carlsbad, Calif. /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ –  The critically acclaimed SPY+ Optic HAPPY BOOST™ lens technology continues to stack awards from some of the most influential media outlets in the world. Fast Company has named the SPY+ HAPPY BOOST Lens to its Next Big Thing in Tech list, an accolade that honors technology breakthroughs that promise to shape the future of a wide range of industries. Earlier this month, Time Magazine named HAPPY BOOST to its annual Best Inventions of 2022 list. The timing of this award is fortuitous as the SPY+ HAPPY BOOST Lens became available in its Marauder collection of snow goggles this month, just in time for the upcoming ski and snowboard season.

HAPPY BOOST is a proprietary lens technology developed using artificial intelligence that enhances color 30% more than the naked eye and twice that of any premium snow or sunglass lens.

According to the Fast Company article that announced the awards, “Oftentimes, innovations in fields such as AI show up in critical but unglamorous products. But in other instances, technological marvels manifest in more consumer-oriented offerings: new goggle lenses, better clothing fabrics, smart bassinets. Such offerings are a helpful reminder that tech really can impact every facet of life—even if you can’t see the innovation on first sight.”

“This winter looks like it will be beyond control for the SPY+ brand and our retail supporters. We knew using AI to develop a better goggle lens would set us apart, and Fast Company including the SPY+ HAPPY BOOST Lens on its Next Big Thing in Tech list validates our efforts. HAPPY BOOST making the TIME Magazine Best Invention list and being featured everywhere, from RollingStone.com to Outside Magazine, clearly shows how next level our new lenses are,” commented Joe Freitag, SPY+ VP of Brand.

Technologies and products included in the Fast Company Next Big Thing in Tech awards have been developed by established companies, startups, or research teams. Award winners were chosen for their cutting-edge advancements and potential to impact consumers, businesses, and society overall. While the winners are diverse, each was selected for reaching key milestones in order to have a proven impact in the next five years.

“Technology breakthroughs and cutting-edge advancements promise to be the solution to some of the world’s most pressing issues. Fast Company is excited to highlight some of the organizations, of all sizes and industry backgrounds, whose technology advancements today will lead to a better tomorrow,” says Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company.

The SPY+ Optic HAPPY BOOST Lens is now available on the Marauder ($240) and Marauder Elite ($310) goggles, as well as a wide range of sunglasses. The entire HAPPY BOOST collection can be seen online at spyoptic.com/happy-boost, and the HAPPY BOOST snow goggle collection can be found online at spyoptic.com/goggles/snow/happy-boost and through the global network of SPY+ retail supporters.

The final list of winners can be found on Fast Company’s website and seen in the magazine’s upcoming Winter 2022/2023 issue, which will be available on December 6.
