Gaining Momentum, Outdoor Market Alliance Celebrates Third Denver Media Show

August 7, 2023

Media Attendance and Brand Participation Show Strong Growth, Rising Trajectory

August 7, 2023 – LAKEWOOD, CO /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Outdoor Market Alliance (OMA), Denver’s emerging outdoor industry hub, recently hosted its third Denver Media Show, connecting outdoor and active brands with key media and gathering a growing network of outdoor industry leaders and professionals over the course of two days.

A collective of 25 independent sales and marketing agencies representing over 175 different brands in the outdoor and active lifestyle markets, the OMA has rapidly become a business nexus, hosting market weeks for retail buyers, media shows for editors and journalists, and a year-round destination for its retail partners. Paired with the media show’s continued traction, the OMA’s original vision as a truly collaborative center is coming to light and reflecting the need OMA is fulfilling for a vibrant industry center in Colorado’s Front Range.

Now in its third iteration, the Denver Media Show drew over 50 brands to show recently launched and upcoming new product stories with over 60 editors and journalists. Since its inception, the number of participating brands, media, and supporting PR agencies continues to grow from one show to the next.

“OMA’s Denver Media Show provided key brand partners with an excellent opportunity to gain top-of-mind exposure with influential freelancers and popular media outlets,” says John DiCuollo, public relations director for Backbone Media, one of the participating PR agencies. “Some of us haven’t seen each other in person for a while, and the outdoor industry is based in business, but as importantly, it’s a strong community. OMA provides a venue where business gets done and relationships are forged. It is cost approachable, conveniently located in the Front Range, and in my opinion, the right brands and agencies are on the floor to also make it a high-value proposition for journalists and brands alike.”

At a lively happy hour on day one, OMA’s President Steve Copeland presented a check for $20,000 to the Outdoor Lab Foundation as part of OMA’s not-for-profit mission and annual giving program.

“The OMA was founded in the spirit of collaboration and new ways of doing business,” said Copeland in addressing attendees. “The outdoor industry has always been a strong community, and everyone here in attendance, from media to brands to our not-for-profit partners and members of Colorado’s Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, is contributing to our founding vision and helping it to prosper. For that, we are both extremely grateful and extremely excited for how the OMA can provide a new and ever-evolving home base for various sectors of our industry to thrive.”
