GCI Outdoor Alleges Rocker Patent Infringement with ITC Complaint Filing

August 20, 2019

Higganum, CT. (August 20, 2019) — GCI Outdoor, Inc. (“GCI Outdoor”), creators of industry leading portable, built-to-last outdoor recreation equipment, announced today that it has filed a Complaint for patent infringement with the U.S. International Trade Commission (“ITC”) against six proposed Respondents, including Denovo Brands, LLC, Zenithen USA LLC and Westfield Outdoor, Inc. d/b/a Westfield Outdoors.

GCI Outdoor alleges that these companies are violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by unlawfully selling for importation and importing collapsible and portable articles of furniture that infringe GCI Outdoor’s U.S. Patent Nos. 9,060,611 and 9,282,824. GCI Outdoor requests that the ITC issue an exclusion order enforced by U.S. Customs that would bar these companies from importing the accused infringing devices into the United States, as well as a cease and desist orders preventing the sale and distribution of accused devices that already entered the United States.

“Innovation and product development are at the core of who we are at GCI Outdoor,” said Dan Grace, Co-President of GCI Outdoor.  “They set us apart from our competitors.  We will continue to vigorously defend our intellectual property to protect our business and the investments we have made in our technology over the last two decades.”
