Gregory spring 2022 collection perfects best-sellers, expands sustainability efforts across the line

August 24, 2021

Collection includes new products and upgrades across almost every category from premium and ultralight backpacking to adventure travel and hydration.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (August 24, 2021) – With its Spring 2022 collection, Gregory Mountain Products, a leader in pack comfort and design for more than 44 years, perfects best-sellers like its category leading Baltoro and Deva and boosts sustainability efforts across its product line.

Longstanding leaders in the backpacking category, the Baltoro and women’s Deva receive a slate of upgrades designed to keep them at the forefront in the backpacking category — a position they have held for more than a decade. Additionally, data-driven efforts have led to increasingly sustainable materials choices in the Baltoro and Deva, as well as Gregory’s newest ultralight backpacking packs and backpacking accessories. The collection is rounded out with revamped hydration packs and a new generation of one of Gregory’s tried-and-true travel rollers, making spring 2022 a comprehensive launch across almost all of Gregory’s product lines.

The Baltoro and Deva are best known for their outstanding comfort that doesn’t come at the price of functionality. On a mission to create the most thoughtfully designed, supportive and customizable pack on the market, Gregory reimagined the Baltoro and Deva’s suspension system and created an Adaptable Fit System that accommodates not only different back lengths, but different body shapes. The new FreeFloat A3 suspension system, featuring an auto-rotating shoulder harness and patented FreeFloat dynamic hipbelt, moves independently from the outer frame to flex and adapt to the natural movement of your body for a new standard in trail comfort. An alloy perimeter frame enables dynamic support and a more stable carry, while a soft molded gription pad positioned on the small of the back prevents pack slip while carrying heavy loads. The foamless AirCushion backpanel is built from a proprietary 3D mesh structure that consists of 90% open-air for true breathability and eliminates pressure points. Polygeine® Stays Fresh technology, an odor-control fabric treatment that inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, keeps the entire backpanel, hipbelt and shoulder harness guaranteed fresh for years, no matter how demanding the use of the pack is. In addition, the Baltoro and Deva’s recycled nylon materials and PFC-free DWR fabrics result in a 31% reduction in the carbon footprint compared to a conventional nylon pack.

To continue its commitment to sustainability, Gregory utilized the same materials and construction to reduce the new ultralight Focal and women’s Facet backpacking pack’s footprint by 29%, and the new Raincover collection by 58%. Built for the minimalist, ultralight backpacker, the Focal and Facet mix dynamic comfort with a superlight build for a superior carrying pack. The packs are built with a 3D ComfortCradle hipbelt that dynamically moves with your body on the trail. Additional weight saving features include a removable floating top pocket, mesh front and side pockets, and an ultralight weather flap on the underside of the top lid. The Focal and Facet are treated with Polygiene® Stays Fresh Technology, and start at an ultralight 2.6 lbs (48L). The new raincover collection is the last addition to the backpacking collection for spring 22, and is made from a durable, recycled ripstop polyester material. It’s available in a wide array of prints and colors, from tropical forest to classic black.

In the day hiking hydration category, the Inertia and Women’s Swift H20  also receive  substantial updates to improve comfort and functionality. The packs will be revamped with a breathable, 3D foam back panel and an optimized organization system that crosses boundaries and offers versatility for both hiking and everyday use.

Lastly, the newest generation of Gregory’s Quadro Pro luggage collection will be introduced to the line. The Quadro Pro and Quadro Hardcase Rollers were designed for the active lifestyle traveler, with Gregory’s proprietary Polygiene®  Stays Fresh treated ActiveShield compartment that keeps dirty or wet clothing separate from clean items. The Quadro Pro roller also features a TSA approved combination lock and a high speed USB charging port, making it a durable and functional travel companion.

The Baltoro and Deva, Focal and Facet, Raincover, Inertia and Swift H20 and Quadro Collection will be available to consumers spring 2022. For more information about Gregory and its collection of award-winning backpacks and adventure travel pieces, visit www.gregorypacks.com.
