Ibex Continues to Expand North American Sales Team

November 1, 2023

Nederland, CO (November 1, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Ibex, leader in merino wool apparel and accessories, expands their North American sales team, now reaching the Canadian market as well as achieving a growing presence in the continental United States.

AKA Sports Group, based out of Toronto, will help Ibex achieve its inaugural retail presence outside of the U.S. Covering the Ontario region, AKA specializes in building and maintaining relationships with both brand and retail partners in the footwear, outdoor, athletic and lifestyle channels. In addition to Ibex, AKA represents top footwear brands Keen and Cougar and has a proven track record accelerating sales for past clients Saucony and the Kid’s Group at Wolverine. Andrew King, Principal at AKA, says “We’re very excited to represent Ibex in the Canadian marketplace. Ibex is an iconic brand, built for adventure and is a leader in innovative, sustainable merino wool products. AKA Account Manager Rob West has a Shak Jacket from 12 years ago, and I have an Ibex merino top that I bought 15 years ago. It’s still a go-to piece in my outdoor kit. When we heard that Ibex was back, we knew this 2.0 version would be a natural fit for our retail partners, and a great brand for our agency. We’re glad to be part of the team.”

Ibex also has joined forces with Awesome Outdoors Group to grow representation in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. Awesome Outdoors Group, founded in 2013, focuses on the outdoor specialty, run specialty and active lifestyle markets. They service the best retailers across DC, Virginia, West Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Currently representing Topo Designs, Qalo, Asolo, and 2UNDR, Awesome Outdoors Group looks forward to adding Ibex to their roster. Founder David Links says “Awesome Outdoors Group has always been drawn to the intersection of iconic names and youthful consumers, and Ibex Merino nails it. Ibex is the OG Merino brand, and offers the durability and sustainability that millennial consumers are drawn to. As someone who has always loved Ibex merino products, I am personally excited to be a part of reintroducing the brand to the wholesale market. We’ve got a great team in place and all the tools to make retailers and consumers fall in love all over again.”

About Ibex:

Founded in Vermont in 1997 and now based in Nederland, CO, Ibex produces refined merino wool apparel and accessories. Why name a merino wool performance apparel company after a goat? To us, it makes complete sense. While sheep are known to traverse mountains, the Ibex is more agile. Active? If you call a goat that can climb sheer rock faces active, then yes. Whatever the weather or occasion, Ibex has you covered. Just as the Ibex migrates according to seasons, our performance wear was born for the modern migration from slope to city– and everywhere in between. Each garment features fine tailoring paired with the benefits of nature’s original performance fiber – merino wool. Co-founded by an avid mountain climber and fully equipped for adventure, Ibex withstands the demands of today. Ibex is committed to ethical apparel production and amplifying the message to buy less and buy better. In 2018, Ibex was sold to New York investor group, Flour Fund. https://ibex.com
