TAMPA, Fla / OGDEN, Utah (Sept. 4, 2019) – IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports Group company, in partnership with Suunto, one of the global leaders in sports watches and precision instruments, announced today the launch of the Suunto 9 Baro Titanium IRONMAN® Limited Edition watch — utilizing the brand’s top-selling GPS multisport watch made specifically for endurance athletes. The durable multiport GPS watch will be limited to 1,406 watches, celebrating the 140.6-mile journey that makes up a full-distance IRONMAN triathlon. As part of the partnership, Suunto becomes the Official Technical Sports Watch of IRONMAN.

“The collaboration with Suunto is an exciting opportunity for us to join forces with one of the leading technical watch makers in the industry to provide our athletes with a top-of-the-line GPS sports watch to use in their training and participation in our events,” said Jennifer Mocerino, Chief Merchandise Officer for IRONMAN. “Our athletes spend months training and tracking their performance in the time leading up to race day, and there’s no better way for us to show our respect to their commitment than by offering them with a world-class multisport watch designed and built to meet their demands.”

The limited-edition watches will feature a black textile quick-release strap with the IRONMAN logo and IRONMAN M-Dot printed on each side. The Suunto 9 Baro Titanium’s intelligent battery life lasts up to 120 hours in GPS tracking mode and when coupled with its more than 80 sport modes, accurate wrist heartrate, and multifaceted training features, makes it the ideal training partner for an IRONMAN athlete. The watch also features a built-in pressure sensor, measuring ambient air pressure which produces barometric altitude measurements.

The Suunto 9 Baro Titanium IRONMAN Limited Edition watch will be available on www.suunto.com and on-site exclusively at the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3® World Championship in Nice, France and the 2019 Vega IRONMAN World Championship® in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i, while supplies last.

“We’re proud to be able to support the triathlon community through this new partnership with IRONMAN,” says Caleb Whittle, Marketing Manager for Suunto in North America. “Athletes from across the globe pour themselves into these races, and the grit and resolve it takes to power to the finish line at IRONMAN is unlike anything else. We’re excited to be a part of it.”
