New dry suit, PFD highlight new products

ARCATA, California — At two recent trade shows, Outdoor Retailer and Paddlesports Retailer, Kokatat put on display its 2019 product line, cementing the company’s 48-year legacy as the leading manufacturer of high-performance paddling gear.

Chief among Kokatat’s new offerings for 2019 is a pinnacle product for serious sea kayakers: Kokatat’s new Odyssey Dry Suit. Constructed of GORE-TEX Pro fabric with 330 Cordura® GORE-TEX reinforcement in the pant, seat and knees, the Odyssey features nylon waterproof front entry and relief zippers, a removable hood, removable suspenders, a pile-lined collar and reflective accents on the arms and hood. The Odyssey, made in the United States, comes in two colors for men and women, and is fully customizable in both sizing and color. Price is $1,250.

Last year, Kokatat added significant depth and breadth to its line of life vests. For 2019, Kokatat continues that trend by introducing the Neptune PFD, a rugged and durable technical touring life vest. The articulated Gaia® PVC-free foam provides perfect fit and comfort. Featuring five fixed pockets and covered in high-tenacity rip-stop nylon, the front-entry Neptune comes with reflective accents on shoulders and back. The vest is hydration compatible and includes attachment points for knives and strobes. Price is $165.

Also new for 2019 is Kokatat’s new unisex GORE-TEX Paclite® version of its Stance Pant, a multidimensional and ultralight piece of waterproof apparel.

About Kokatat Inc.

Kokatat has been manufacturing paddling gear in Arcata, California almost 50 years. At a time when many technical apparel brands were moving manufacturing offshore, Kokatat continued to invest in infrastructure in the United States. Kokatat founder Steve O’Meara was committed to the development of the finest and driest paddling apparel in the world and recognized the need to control and continually evolve the development of our dry wear. In the early days, Kokatat worked closely with W.L. Gore & Associates, makers of GORE-TEX®, to refine the sewing and sealing techniques required for full immersion suits and tops. Today, our hands-on approach to manufacturing continues to set the standard in paddling apparel. Into the water with Kokatat! Learn more at www.kokatat.com.
