La Sportiva Introduces New Indoor Climbing Line in Fall 2026 Footwear Launch

December 16, 2025

The collection spans climbing, running, and hiking with new climbing shoes, GTX trail running models, and a new approach shoe

BOULDER, Colo. (December 16, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain gear, today announced its Fall/Winter 2026 collection. Headlined by a new indoor climbing collection, the line also features a new approach shoe, waterproof additions to the Prodigio Mountain Running® series, and a new lightweight hiking boot built for long days on rugged trails.

The HyperEZ leads the brand’s new indoor climbing collection. Designed for climbers learning the fundamentals, it offers a comfort-first fit that removes the traditional break-in period. A high-volume last improves comfort across pressure zones, while dual-crossed straps inspired by the legendary Katana climbing shoe provide an adjustable, secure closure. With supportive cushioning, a stable heel cup, EVA heel wedge for maximum comfort and La Sportiva’s patented SenseGrip™ midsole. The $119 HyperEZ helps new climbers progress with confidence as they learn to smear and toe hook. A HyperEZ Rental version is also available for indoor climbing programs.

Developed in collaboration with professional route setters, the $169 TX Setter blends climbing-shoe sensitivity with the cushioning and comfort of an approach shoe. The new model is fully resoleable and designed for long gym shifts and demanding workloads. A breathable, abrasion-resistant upper handles daily use, while the asymmetrical lacing system protects the laces during toe hooks. The high-friction rubber toe patch and grippy heel cup offer control on holds, and the Vibram® MegaGrip™ Elite outsole provides exceptional traction on textured surfaces, with a climbing zone at the forefoot for added sensitivity and precision.

“Indoor climbing has become one of the most important entry points into our sport,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “The new HyperEZ and TX Setter are designed to support that progression, from the first days on plastic to the demands of route setting and daily training. With the new line, we focused on comfort, durability, and the features climbers have been asking for, so they can learn faster and climb with confidence.”

La Sportiva is also expanding its approach offerings this season with the TX1, a lightweight technical approach shoe built for fast missions, scouting new crags, and easy climbs. The abrasion-resistant synthetic upper, TPU toe cap, and welded microfiber mudguard provide durable protection, while an asymmetric construction and supportive heel cup enhance stability on uneven traverses. A Vibram® MegaGrip™ outsole ensures outstanding traction on gym floors and technical terrain, and features a climbing zone in the forefoot for precision on rugged terrain. The TX1 retails for $159.

For trail running, La Sportiva is introducing waterproof versions of two existing models: the Prodigio 2 GTX and the Prodigio Max GTX. The $195 Prodigio 2 GTX is designed to provide protection and control on icy trails, helping athletes venture further into the mountains during the winter months. The new model weighs in at 10.2oz and adds a GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit membrane, creating a barrier from the elements without changing the shoe’s energetic ride. The new shoe is outfitted with a FriXion White outsole with 4mm lugs, providing increased grip on wet, technical trails. The $215 Prodigio Max GTX applies the same membrane to the maximum-cushion version of the line, pairing a nitrogen-infused XFlow™ Endurance midsole with improved grip from the FriXion® White outsole to handle long, storm-soaked runs.

The $199 Prodigio Hike LT GTX expands the Prodigio hiking line. A nubuck leather upper with breathable 3D mesh inserts provides additional durability and comfort, while welded TPU reinforcements and a leather toe cap offer protection on rocky terrain. The new boot offers additional support and control, with a reinforced heel collar that provides an extra eyelet around the ankle. A GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane ensures waterproof performance, and a dual-density FriXion® XT 2.0 outsole with 4.5mm Laspo lugs bites into steep, uneven ground.

The new collection will be available at select specialty retailers and at www.lasportivausa.com in the fall of 2026.
