Lightest-in-class Gregory pack line wins 2016 OutDoor Industry Award for innovation

July 14, 2016

New Gregory Paragon, Maven set new standard in lightweight packs with Aerolon ventilated suspension

Setting the new standard for light weight in its category, a new series of backpacks from Gregory won the 2016 OutDoor Industry Award, which is bestowed on the most innovative new products introduced at the European outdoor trade show in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The award and new pack series from Gregory, speak to the company’s growth and momentum in the global market.

The Paragon and Maven feature Gregory’s new Aerolon suspension system, a ventilated back-panel design that results in the lightest and most comfortable customizable suspension in its weight class. Packs in the series start at 2 pounds, 15 ounces.

Assessed and evaluated by an independent panel of design experts, the OutDoor Industry Award recognizes outdoor products featuring a high level of innovation, functionality and sustainability. Winners are announced at the OutDoor Awards Ceremony on July 13, the first day of the trade show. The OutDoor trade show is the leading international meeting for the outdoor industry. More than 21,000 industry professionals from around the world attend the show.

Light in weight but not in features, the men’s Paragon and women’s Maven represent all that customers have come to expect from a Gregory pack – superb fit, outstanding comfort and thoughtful design. Gregory’s Aerolon Suspension uses a size-specific 7001 aluminum chassis, for uncompromised load stabilization, and a mesh-encapsulated Matrix-foam backpanel, for ventilation and moisture evaporation.

Other noteworthy features include the shoulder harness sunglass quickstow, integrated raincover and Sidekick pack, a sleeve for a hydration reservoir that doubles as a daypack for summit bids.

Available spring 2017, the men’s Paragon comes in two frame sizes and four capacities, 38, 48, 58 and 68 liters. The women’s Maven comes in two frame sizes and four capacities, 35, 45, 55 and 65 liters.

The Paragon and Maven will debut in North America in a few weeks at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah. To view the packs, visit the Gregory booth, 6027.
