Eldris is unanimous pick for Scandinavian Outdoor Award

Morakniv®, creator of quality Swedish knives since 1891, has received a top honor at the OutDoor Friedrichshafen 2016 show in Germany. A jury unanimously picked the Morakniv Eldris for the prestigious Scandinavian Outdoor Award in the Hardware category.

The Scandinavian Outdoor Award is given to products based on functionality, quality, innovation, design and sustainability. The Eldris, a pocket size fixed blade knife, was recognized by an international jury of outdoor journalists for its compact shape and all-around convenience. The jury cited the knife’s innovative design, balance and durability, as well as the fact that the blade, materials and packaging are all locally produced in Mora, Sweden.

“We’re extremely proud and happy that Eldris is being acknowledged with this award,” says Björn Åkerblom, marketing manager at Morakniv. “The thing that inspires us the most is we have designed a product that attracts a variety of users, from hunters to divers and climbers, to outdoor enthusiasts.”

The Eldris has a 56mm long semi-matte Swedish stainless steel blade, and a scandi ground spine that’s compatible with a fire starter. Two different polymers and a grip-friendly shape make the handle durable and easy to hold. A built-in click lock between the sheath and handle ensures the Eldris stays safely in place when worn around the neck. Its small size and safe handling make Eldris a perfect choice for knife users of all experience levels.

The Morakniv Eldris will be on display at Summer Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City at the Industrial Revolution booth #40.
