Mountain Hardwear Releases New Collections and Added Styles for Winter Adventures

August 15, 2022

The HiCamp™, Stretchdown™ and Powder Quest™ collections showcase a wide range of capabilities for fall and winter time activities

Richmond, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2022)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Mountain Hardwear, a leader in performance equipment and apparel for climbers, mountaineers and athletes, introduces the new HiCamp™ lifestyle collection, additions to the Stretchdown™ family, and new women’s-specific outerwear in the Powder Quest™ kit. Keeping users from various activity groups in mind, the three collections provide a range of apparel options that are suited towards everyday adventures and on-mountain skiing and riding.

“With a long history of designing gear and performance apparel for climbers, mountaineers and skiers, we’re excited to offer a new product range that includes both lifestyle-oriented apparel and technical apparel alike,” says Brittany Beratlis, senior product line manager for sportswear at Mountain Hardwear. “Our goal at Mountain Hardwear is to constantly be diversifying our product range so that there’s something for everyone, no matter their chosen activity.”

The new HiCamp collection includes hooded and non-hooded fleece options, a fleece vest, as well as a fleece-lined shell jacket, available in men’s and women’s styles.

Inspired by Mountain Hardwear’s technical alpine wear, but designed for more mellow outdoor pursuits, the HiCamp Fleece Hoody (MSRP $150) and Pullover (MSRP $130) pair high-loft Sherpa fleece with a durable design. Both feature two zippered hand pockets and elastic cuffs and hem. The hoody has a full-length zipper in addition to a three-piece hood with elastic binding, whereas the pullover sports a half-zip design and mock collar for extra coverage.

For the transition from summer to fall or winter to spring, the HiCamp Fleece Vest (MSRP $110) is a versatile layering option that can be worn over a light layer or as a mid-layer beneath another jacket. Made from the same high-loft Sherpa fleece as the fleece hoody and pullover, the HiCamp Fleece Vest provides added warmth where it’s needed most. With two zip chest pockets on the men’s version and two hand zip pockets on the women’s version, this vest keeps your essentials close at hand whether you’re in camp or running errands in town.

The men’s and women’s HiCamp Shell Jackets (MSRP $160) feature a woven nylon shell fabric that is lined with high-loft Sherpa fleece providing a lightweight, abrasion and weather-resistant layer. Full-length snap-button front closures provide casual styling, while the women’s jacket features a mock collar for added warmth. Both jackets include two hand pockets, elastic cuffs and adjustable hems.

Building off one of Mountain Hardwear’s best selling down insulation collections, new additions to the Stretchdown family include a mid-weight vest available for men and a light-weight vest available for women, as well as a men’s shirt jacket and a women’s hip-length jacket.

Consisting of 700-fill RDS-certified, bluesign® approved down insulation and stretch-woven fabric that is exclusive to Mountain Hardwear, the Stretchdown Vests (MSRP $220) are intended for crisp evenings around the campsite, breezy days at the crag or in the city.

The men’s Stretchdown Vest utilizes a slightly larger baffle pattern, which balances warmth and mobility, while the women’s Stretchdown Light Vest features a narrow baffle width, providing a low profile and increased compressibility. Each style features a standard fit and is made of durable 20D stretch-woven nylon fabric.

Bringing a more casual option to the Stretchdown family, the men’s Light Shacket (MSRP $230) and women’s High-Hip Jacket (MSRP $320) blend style and performance for versatile every-day use. Both styles feature 700-fill RDS-certified, bluesign approved down insulation and durable 20D stretch-woven nylon fabric for added mobility. The Light Shacket includes two oversized chest pockets with flap closures, while the High-Hip Jacket has two zip hand pockets and one zip chest pocket.

The new Powder Quest collection is a full-featured kit for women who spend most of their days skiing or riding at the resort.

The Powder Quest Jacket (MSRP $350) consists of waterproof protection and a poly stretch jacquard shell. The jacket is loaded with features such as two zippered hand pockets, two sets of chest pockets (upper and lower), an on-sleeve pass pocket, underarm zip vents with mesh backing, and a helmet-compatible hood with three-way drawcord adjustment.

The Powder Quest Pants (MSRP $325) provide the same waterproofing and insulation as the jacket, plus two zippered hand pockets, two thigh pockets, thigh-length zip vents with mesh backing, and an integrated RECCO reflector.

The HiCamp collection is available now at mountainhardwear.com and authorized retail partners, while the new Stretchdown styles will be available in early September and the Powder Quest kit will be available in November, 2022.
