Mountainsmith Debuts New Line of Compact Trekking Poles at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

July 18, 2016

Golden, CO – Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear— is debuting their 2017 line of compact, performance trekking poles at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (Booth #20015). Mountainsmith has climbed the ranks of top manufacturers and now sits as the third largest USA brand.

Mountainsmith has maintained their commitment to value and durability once again in designing these new products. The 2017 line of fully adjustable trekking poles feature a new external Outerlock System (OLS), which allow select poles to collapse down to just 16 inches. All new styles are made from high-grade 6061 and 7075 Aluminum, and feature comfortable, ergonomically molded handles available in TPR, CORK, EVA, or combinations on select models.

“Mountainsmith has continued to add new styles and technologies to our incredible line of trekking poles, staffs and canes over the last 10+ years,” Says Jay Getzel, President of Mountainsmith. “For spring 2017, we have developed an array of collapsible and Outerlock System (OLS) styles that will further expand our reach into this category.  This will provide our dealers with high margin/high turn merchandise and ultimately provide hikers, peak baggers and adventurers an untouchable price to technology proposition that will enhance their experiences in the outdoors.”

The 5 new collapsible trekking pole styles will be available in retailers around the world in January of 2017.
