Mountainsmith Debuts New Women’s Specific Gear and Soft Sided Coolers At OR Winter Market

January 4, 2017

Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear— is set to launch new women’s specific lumbar packs and trekking poles and 3 new soft-sided coolers at Outdoor Retailer’s Winter Market on January 11th. The new women’s specific designs (WSD) will bolster Mountainsmith’s current line of WSD packs, bringing to the consumer marketplace a wider variety of gear specifically tailored for women. Mountainsmith will also be debuting three new leak-proof coolers, which will fall in line with their current roster of soft-sided cooler products.

For a Fall 2017 launch, Mountainsmith will be releasing their Cooloir Series, with sizes available in 13 liters (12 cans + ice) and 21 liters (24 cans + ice). This cooler series features heavy duty ¾” closed-cell EVA foam insulation, water tight PU sealed external zippers and is capable of up to 72 hours of cold storage with ice. The Cooloir Sling builds on the popularity of the Cooler Tube, with ½” closed-cell EVA foam insulation and a similar watertight PU sealed external zipper for 12 hours of cold storage. The Cooloir Series will be introduced alongside Mountainsmith’s existing soft-sided coolers in the fall of this year, adding to the brand’s line of incredibly durable backcountry and car camping coolers for 2017.

Mountainsmith’s new women’s specific designs include the Tour WSD lumbar pack, the Tellurite 7075 WSD trekking poles, and the Halite 7075 WSD trekking poles. The new lumbar pack features a tuckaway, canted, contoured waist belt designed to properly fit a woman’s Iliac Crest, ensuring the best fit possible, and will be available in brand-new colorways. The Tellurite 7075 WSD trekking poles are designed with women’s ergonomic shape TPR handles, can collapse down to just 24 inches, and feature Mountainsmith’s new Outerlock (OLS) height adjustment mechanisms, which allow for quick and easy adjustment. The Halite 7075 WSD also features the OLS height adjustment mechanisms as well as a cork/EVA handle shaped specifically for women. The collapsible pole can fold down to 14.5” for better portability and storage in most backpacks and luggage. These designs will also be available in fall 2017.

“Women are continuing to push boundaries both in the field and in the industry, and we’re excited to introduce new options to help them more efficiently get outside and seek new adventures. With the addition of two trekking poles and the Tour WSD, our women’s specific line offers added variety for female adventurers of every kind. In addition to advancing our WSD collection, we’re also expanding our popular soft-sided coolers.  The new Cooloir Series is a leak-proof solution to keep your beverages even colder for longer at an unmatched price tag.”

New 2017 Mountainsmith WSD and Cooler Highlights

Mountainsmith Tour WSD

Our quintessential Tour lumbar pack is now available in a women’s specific design (WSD). The Tour WSD offers a more natural fit for added comfort and more efficient carry from street to trail. Its robust design is just as durable as it is versatile, capable of stashing the essentials (and more) for all of life’s adventures.

Mountainsmith Cooloir Sling

Building on the popularity of our Cooler Tube, the Cooloir Sling offers added insulation and watertight seals to keep your favorite 6-pack even colder, longer. Pack in 6 cans or 4 tall boys and throw the Cooloir Sling over your shoulder for 12 hours of cold beverages.

Mountainsmith Cooloir Series

For even more, even colder beverages, the watertight seals and the ¾” insulation of the Cooloir 12 and Cooloir 24 deliver 72 hours of cold storage (with ice). The main compartment holds ice and the 12 or 24-pack of your choice, in addition to a zippered storage pocket on the underside of the lid. Strap the essentials to the daisy chain webbing and crack open a cold one with the included bottle opener.

Mountainsmith Halite WSD

The unmatched value of the collapsible Halite trekking pole returns with a women’s specific design (WSD). The Halite WSD folds down to 14.5” for exceptional portability and storage while the new Outerlock (OLS) height adjustment mechanism makes for easy adjustment in variable conditions for a wide array of female users. The cork and EVA handles and the padded wrist straps are designed for more ergonomic comfort in any terrain.

Mountainsmith Tellurite WSD

The easy-to-adjust Tellurite trekking poles are now available in a women’s specific design (WSD), offering women an even more ergonomic and comfortable fit. The new Outerlock (OLS) height adjustment mechanism makes for a simple adjustment in variable conditions while the women-specific handle is shaped for better adventures on and off the trail.
