Mountainsmith Launches Game Changing Adventure Photography Pack

October 17, 2018

TanuckLITE 40 Co-designed with Legendary Photographer Chris Burkard

Golden, CO—Oct. 17, 2018Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear—is thrilled to announce the launch of the TanuckLITE 40 adventure and travel photography backpack. The pack is a result of Mountainsmith’s continued product collaboration with legendary outdoor lifestyle photographer Chris Burkard, who co-designed the TanuckLITE 40. The pack is available now on Mountainsmith.com and Chrisburkard.com.

Inspired by the success of the award-winning Tanuck 40, the TanuckLITE 40 offers the same bombproof construction in a lighter package. From adventure travel to local photo shoots, day hikes to days on the beach; the TanuckLITE 40 is the one quiver, do-everything adventure travel and camera pack.

“Mountainsmith is thrilled to continue our partnership with Chris on his signature line of packs and bags,” commented Jay Getzel, President, Mountainsmith. “We believe that adventure travelers, climbers and photographers alike will appreciate the improved access and thoughtful designed pockets and lashing systems. We continue to work on new development with Chris and look forward to new launches in 2019 and beyond!”

Weighing less than four pounds, Mountainsmith utilizes a lightweight, aramid ripstop that ensures extreme durability in light fabric. Additionally, a minimal, removable waistbelt and trimmed weight across the board, Mountainsmith and Burkard have taken every step to offset the load of heavy photo gear.

“For two years, I’ve been working with Mountainsmith to push the limits of the TAN series—testing, refining, and developing what continues to be one of the most versatile and durable camera carry systems.” Remarked Chris Burkard, “Today, we’re excited to introduce the TanuckLITE40, a lighter, more nimble take on the original Tanuck 40. We’re looking forward to sharing it with the adventure photography world.”

For versatility, combine the TanuckLITE 40 with the Mountainsmith T.A.N. Series Kit Cubes and load up the adventure essentials with the MOLLE style webbing, front panel expansion pocket, and D-Ring attachment points. Pack light stands, tripods, reusable water bottles, and accessories in the side panel pockets and stabilizes loads with the removable compression straps.

For those on the move, the removable top lid clips into the shoulder strap mounted D-rings for a chest mount carry option and instant access to your camera, lenses, phone, batteries, and more. The camera and adventure pack also comes with a hydration bladder sleeve and exit port, as well as dual density shoulder straps with load lifter suspension for more efficient carry.
