MYSTERY RANCH Raises Over $1200 for Access Fund at Outdoor Retailer

August 9, 2016

Stein 62 selected as ‘Best in Show’ by Gear Junkie

Bozeman, MT. (August 9, 2016) – MYSTERY RANCH, an industry-leading pack company, focused on function, comfort, quality, and durability, celebrates another successful Outdoor Retailer Summer Market trade show, at which the company raised over $1200 for the Access Fund and the newly debuted Stein 62 backpack earned the Gear Junkie’s ‘Best in Show’ award.

On Raising Funds for the Access Fund

Breaking down the booth at another Outdoor Retailer Summer Market on Saturday was a little sweeter than usual after four great days in Salt Lake City. The highlight was Mystery Ranch’s ‘Stein’ party during Happy Hour on Day Two, which raised $1222 for the Access Fund, a non-profit organization committed to protecting climbing access and the integrity of America’s outdoor climbing areas.

The Mystery Ranch booth was swarmed by trade show goers looking to enjoy a Stein of German beer (in honor of the new Stein 62 pack) and hoping for the chance to win one of two Grivel Mont Blanc vintage ice axes. At $10 each, the supply of Steins (which included a raffle ticket and a custom Mystery Ranch t-shirt) sold out in less than an hour.

“The Access Fund is doing some awesome work protecting America’s climbing resources through their policy work, involvement with local climbing organizations, boots on the ground trail work, and an emphasis in education from gym-to-crag,” said Alex Kutches, VP of Sales and Marketing. “We are really pleased to get to help out and many thanks to everyone at Outdoor Retailer who came by and contributed.”

On the ‘Best In Show’ Award from Gear Junkie

The winner of the GearJunkie.com’s ‘Best In Show’ in the expedition backpack category is the new for 2017 Stein 62 multi-day pack. It strikes an ideal balance between bombproof materials and lightweight construction by combining carbon fiber stays, high-density foams and lightweight 400D air-textured fabric. The standout feature is the lid, which converts into a full-featured summit pack using the main pack’s yoke and harnessing for uncompromised comfort during side excursions. Currently, the Gear Junkie editors are inviting readers to vote for their favorite of their OR picks. To vote for the Stein 62, up to three votes per day through August 16th, click here.

“It’s awesome to be honored by Gear Junkie at Outdoor Retailer once again,” said MYSTERY RANCH Founder and Lead Designer Dana Gleason of the Gear Junkie ‘Best in Show’ award. “Competition is fierce in this hall, so recognition of a job well done is a real coup for our design team and the company on the whole.”
