Outdoor Industry Association Names Matt Kaplan Vice President of Membership and Sales

(Boulder, CO) April 26, 2016 – Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) is pleased to announce that Matt Kaplan will join the organization as Vice President of Membership and Sales. With deep experience at some of the outdoor industry’s most recognizable brands, Kaplan recently served as VP of sales at Ibex Outdoor Clothing.

“Matt brings solid industry brand experience and strong connections at retail.  He will take a fresh look at our member offering and value proposition and drive the development of relevant offerings that resonate with members.  He will have a strong partner in our marketing and communications team in telling a compelling, unified story about our industry that will support our advocacy work and inspire more outdoor participation,” said OIA Executive Director Amy Roberts.

As VP of membership and sales, Kaplan will be leading the membership team and initiatives, events and education as well as OIA’s partnership and promotional opportunities.

“Having spent over 20 years working on the brand side of the outdoor industry and benefiting from the efforts of the OIA, I am thrilled and honored to be a member of the leadership team on such an important, influential and cause-minded organization. Kaplan lives in Boulder with his wife and two sons, and enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain and road biking, and surfing.
