Outdoor Market Alliance Hosts First Media Show

October 12, 2022

Denver-based Media Show highlights outdoor brands, Colorado businesses, and collaboration

October 12th, 2022 – DENVER, CO /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – The Outdoor Market Alliance, an emerging outdoor industry hub in the Denver metro area, is building on its collaborative momentum with the recently launched Denver Media Show. A collective of 25 independent sales and marketing agencies representing over 175 different brands, the Outdoor Market Alliance (OMA) is finding new ways of doing business, and has just hosted the first official Media Show for local and national editors and journalists.

Over 35 media gathered at the OMA hub on September 29th and 30th, circulating within and outside the space to discover hundreds of new products while engaging with dozens of notable outdoor and active lifestyle gear and apparel brands. In a collective effort from several PR agencies, media were introduced to the new space and concept while previewing fresh gear and exploring potential stories to share with their audiences.

“The roots of the OMA concept is that we can do more by coming together,” said Axel Geittman, president and founding board member of OMA. “While we typically host specialty retail buyers, this week we hosted media from top-tier publications that are looking for stories not only about the gear, but about the people and businesses on this side of the outdoor industry, that they can then pass along to consumers.”

Beyond sharing a new, modern showroom space, the OMA is a collective of small businesses sharing resources and supporting community and industry initiatives through its non-profit association. It’s also a year-round destination for outdoor specialty retailers and their buyers who can now visit and do business with nearly 200 brands in one convenient and permanent location.

Conor Hall, director of the Colorado Office of Outdoor Recreation, joined the Media Show as a guest speaker, updating attendees on initiatives to drive the outdoor recreation economy in the state.

“The Outdoor Market Alliance and its Denver Media Show are fantastic examples of collaboration, community and innovation within the outdoor industry, bringing valuable additional exposure and business to Colorado’s robust multibillion dollar outdoor recreation economy,” said Hall. “We look forward to continued partnership with the OMA and the new Denver Media Show.”

The OMA will host its Market Weeks for retail buyers later this fall, November 14-18 and November 28-December 2. The next media show is slated for mid-winter 2023.

“The community spirit of the outdoor industry has always been really strong,” added Geittmann. “To see other groups in our industry collaborating in this space and within the concept of what we’re creating is exactly as intended, and adds to our excitement of possibilities moving forward.”
