Professional Ultrarunner Amanda Basham Signs with rabbit

March 10, 2020

Santa Barbara, CaliforniaAmanda Basham is the latest addition to the rabbitPRO team after she recently signed with the cutting-edge running apparel brand rabbit. With top results at some of the world’s most prestigious mountain-ultra-trail races in recent years, Basham brings her speedy experience to a talent-laden rabbit squad of trail aces like Dani Moreno, Kris Brown, Sandi Nypaver, Jimmy Elam, Ashley Nordell, Eric Senseman and Kate Elliott. For Basham, the move to rabbit was a natural fit.

“I love everything about the company and what they stand for. Not only is the gear super stylish but it’s extremely functional for running. The founders are both badass women who stand for clean sport and are all around great people,” says Basham.

Basham, of Boulder, Colorado, has made a name for herself in recent years. After a breakout year in 2016 when she placed fourth at the prestigious Western States 100, Basham’s ascent continued with wins at the 2017 and 2018 Ultra Race of Champions 100k, second place at the 2018 Tarawera Ultras 102k in New Zealand, a repeat fourth-place performance at the 2018 Western States 100 and a breakthrough, second-place finish at the competitive CCC 100k at last year’s Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc festival in France.

The standout results should continue for Basham as she targets races around the globe this year.

An ultra endurance coach originally from Oregon, Basham will set her sights on a big summer of racing in Europe where she hopes to podium at both the Lavaredo 100k in Italy on June 26th and the Ultra-Trail Mont-Blanc festival’s OCC 56k race in August. Basham’s 2020 campaign will then continue at Colorado’s challenging Run Rabbit Run 100 Mile on September 18th.

As her 2020 season unfolds, Basham knows she’ll have the gear she needs to perform her best. “The quality, style and function of this apparel is perfect. Everything has so much detail and was clearly thought through, from the hand feel to cutouts to pocket placement,” she adds.

Basham will don the rabbit kit for the first time when she opens her 2020 racing season at the hotly contested Lake Sonoma 50 on April 11th.
