Slackline Industries sponsors Dominion Riverrock competition

May 19, 2017

Featuring top tricklining talent, Emiliano Gimenez, Itsuki Hosoe and Martín Hernandez

BOULDER, Colorado — Slackline Industries, producer of high-quality slackline systems, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Dominion Riverrock 2017 slackline competition being held May 20-21, 2017, in Richmond, Virginia.

Competing for a $2,500 cash purse and top spots in the official ISI World Ranking, the event will feature top tricklining talent like Emiliano Gimenez of Argentina, Itsuki Hosoe of Japan and US contender Martín Hernandez.

“The tricks coming out of these competitions are really taking things to a new level. The names are pretty fun, too,” said Frankie Najera, Slackline Industries marketing director, referring to Misty Buttflips, Squirrel Grabs, Estonian Backflips, Lady Bounce 180 BS to Butt Bounces and others.

Judges will score each athlete based on several criteria including difficulty, amplitude, technique and style. Each athlete will have two matches per round and the highest score will decide who moves through to the finals where top finishers will be awarded cash prizes.

“It’s an incredible time to be a part of this fast-growing sport,” said Najera. “If climbing can make it to the Olympics, what’s stopping slacklining?”

The Online Trickline Championship, also sponsored by Slackline Industries, will also be announced soon. Open to slackline athletes all over the world and now in its second year, contestants submit a two-minute video to be judged according to the ISI Slackline Judging criteria and the top four competitors win an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2017 World Cup in Japan.
