Stio Partners with Renowned Guitar Maker, Taylor Guitars, for Limited Edition Collab

May 31, 2024

JACKSON, Wyo. (May 31, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Stio, the mountain lifestyle brand headquartered in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is excited to announce a limited-edition collab with industry-acclaimed guitar maker, Taylor Guitars. Celebrating music’s power to bring people together and the creative energy harnessed from the outdoors, the collaboration aims to capture that spirit through vibrant custom designs packaged into one of the world’s most popular acoustic guitars, the Taylor GS Mini.

While this is a newly formalized partnership, the connection between Stio and Taylor Guitars was originally established more than a decade ago.

“I bought my first Taylor guitar about 15 years ago on the advice of a friend and absolutely fell in love,” said Stio Founder and CEO, Stephen Sullivan. ”I loved how it played, how easy it was to adjust the action, and how it fit my playing style. As I learned more about the company, I also came to really respect the Taylor story and brand ethos. Later on, as we began opening our Mountain Studios, I made a dedicated spot for a Taylor guitar within each store and encouraged people to play by offering discounts of 5% off for one song, 10% off for two, and 15% off for playing a short set. It’s been wildly successful and I think it’s really fostered a unique community element within the store similar to a campfire hang out.”

For the collaboration, Stio partnered with nine local artists with various ties to each of its Mountain Studio® store locations. The artists designed pieces inspired by a variety of themes including the Stio brand, their local landscape, mountain town culture, and their personal artistic style. Their vibrant artwork was then custom-created to fit the shape of the guitar top “canvas,” resulting in a beautiful visual aesthetic that’s matched by the GS Mini’s fun-to-play, sonically inspiring musical personality. Every Stio Mountain Studio will display one of these custom-designed instruments and all nine guitar designs will be available for purchase at Stio.com and made to order. To view the entire collection and artist info, you can visit the Stio website.

The collaboration is one of a four-part series of Stio’s new (Featuring) project which highlights artists, makers and creatives who share the brand’s mountain perspective and bring unique expression to its apparel. Using high-altitude aesthetics, techniques and design, these limited-edition series and collaborations are inspired by, and created for, exploring nature, the self, and other unique ways to Let The Outside In®. Other creatives featured in this series include: Kellie Swanson of KSX Art, Hest and Wilderdog.
