Surf Industry Manufacturers Association Chooses Remedy Public Relations To Help With Media Outreach Prior To The Summer Olympics

July 12, 2021

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (July 12, 2021): Surfing’s debut in the upcoming Summer Olympics is sure to be a highlight of the Tokyo event. The Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) has selected Remedy Public Relations to help with media outreach and message development before surfing’s debut on the world’s stage in Tokyo this summer, along with other ongoing initiatives. Remedy PR was selected because of its expertise in helping surf and adjacent active-outdoor brands secure mainstream media attention, as well as its teams’ previous experience with snowboarding’s Olympic debut more than 20 years ago. Remedy PR’s efforts were integral in a recent Insider.com story appearing that featured SIMA and surfing’s 22-year journey to the upcoming Olympics.

Surfing was one of the five fastest-growing sports in the U.S. last year, with a massive 28% participation increase. With surfing’s popularity predicted to increase even further after its Olympic debut, Remedy PR will assist SIMA with proactive and reactive media and messaging needs to further amplify the voice of the surf industry during this historic period.

The Remedy PR team has a diverse range of brand partner experience, including decades of work in surfing, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, cycling, and footwear, along with expertise in consumer electronics, SaaS, finance, and healthcare.
