Team Evergreen Announces BOA Technology as Presenting Sponsor of The Hundo

April 15, 2021

EVERGREEN, COLO, April 15, 2021 — Team Evergreen Cycling, a cycling organization that prides itself on thoughtful philanthropic impact, is pleased to announce BOA® Technology as the presenting sponsor of this year’s Hundo mountain bike race, taking place on June 19th in the Buffalo Creek trail system.

BOA Technology Inc., creators of the revolutionary, award-winning BOA Fit System, partners with market-leading brands to make the best gear even better. BOA was born in the Rocky Mountains in 2001 with an innovative performance fit system that transformed how snowboarders “dialed in” their boots. Delivering fit solutions purpose-built for performance, the BOA Fit System is featured in products across cycling, snow sports, running, workwear, and more. The system features a micro-adjustable dial, super-strong lightweight laces, and low-friction guides, allowing consumers to dial in to a fast, effortless, precision fit.

“BOA and our employees are proud supporters of the Hundo and are grateful for the opportunity to provide support for local organizations that uplift underserved communities, promote the growth of cycling for our youth, and maintain our favorite Colorado MTB trails.” Dieter Tantius, Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist, BOA

For more than a decade, the Hundo has offered a challenging XC MTB race, with courses winding through the Pike National Forest and Buffalo Creek areas. This year’s Hundo offers a 100K course and a 50K course supporting youth cycling initiatives and improvements to recreational trail assets in Colorado. Now in its 12th year, the event has given $300,000 to youth cycling and trail initiatives.

This year’s beneficiaries of The Hundo are the Colorado High School Cycling League – a non-profit youth development program for high school students in Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico to be exposed to cycling in a fun and safe manner, Lucky to Ride – dedicated to giving underserved and at-risk youth the opportunity to experience and learn about the natural beauty of Colorado, and the Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA) – a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and preservation of great mountain biking experiences in Colorado.

“Since the Hundo’s inception in 2010, our community — including staff, coaches, parents, and student athletes — looks forward to the event weekend and post-race celebration,” shares Kate Rau, executive director of the Colorado High School Cycling League. “This year, we are particularly excited to be able to come together. We are grateful for each and every person who participates. Their financial contribution and fundraising efforts enable the Colorado League to deliver programming and provide scholarships for riders, coaches and teams who need financial assistance to participate. Thank you for supporting this epic race that makes an epic difference!”

COMBA, funded solely by memberships and donations, has been the driving force behind mountain bike trail creation, maintenance, and stewardship. They are committed to being an advocacy voice for mountain bikers and have had an integral role in making the Front Range an incredible place to ride.

“Team Evergreen and The Hundo have been an invaluable partner for COMBA in our efforts to plan and fund new mountain bike experiences in the Front Range. We work together throughout the year and quite frankly COMBA would not have the same impact for the MTB community without their support.” — Gary Moore, Executive Director, Colorado Mountain Bike Association

Registration for The Hundo is full for 2021 but there are several volunteer opportunities for those who wish to participate in the excitement. Monetary donations to the Colorado High School Cycling League, Lucky to Ride, and COMBA may be donated through this link.

The Hundo is made possible by the community of Bailey, CO, volunteers, and the sponsorship support of BOA Technology, Nathan Mortgage, Berkshire Elevated Living, Denver Beer Co., Yeti Cycles, and Elevation Cycles.
