Chris Burkard Traveled to Iceland to Put Nocs’ Lightest, Smallest and Most Powerful Monocular Ever Through the Paces in a Harsh Environment
ALPINE MEADOWS, Calif. (May 20, 2025) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Nocs Provisions (https://www.nocsprovisions.com), maker of premium, adventure-ready outdoor optics and accessories, today introduces the new 10×25 Zero Tube Monocular—the brand’s lightest, toughest, and most packable monocular ever. Designed for explorers, climbers, surfers, and outdoor enthusiasts who demand top-tier performance in a minimalist form, the Zero Tube is packable, lightweight and built to withstand the harshest conditions.
Born from a desire to create the smallest and most durable high-performance monocular, the Zero Tube’s compact 110mm x 40mm silhouette features the highest-quality Bak4 prisms and ED fully multi-coated lenses to deliver brighter and sharper images. With an IPX7 waterproof rating, fogproof construction and rugged, impact-resistant housing, the Zero Tube is designed to take along for the journey as an essential tool for line spotting, wildlife observation, travel, backcountry and big-mountain epics.
“Product wisdom will tell you to listen to, and build products for your customer. We didn’t do that. In this case, we built exactly what we wanted at the Nocs HQ,” said Chris McKleroy, CEO of Nocs Provisions. “We wanted something that could come on any adventure, whether it’s backcountry skiing, high alpine mountain bike rides, jumping on the moto to check the surf – this optic was just something we wish had existed at an accessible price. The integrated clip means it clips to a pack, belt, or bib and is easily accessible for a quick glance at a couloir, point break, and all of the critters that we encounter on these adventures away from it all. We packed the best optics into this – ED glass, fully multi coated lenses and a coated roof prism to pack heaps of brightness in this little peeper.”
For the initial testing of the Zero Tube, Nocs partnered with world-renowned photographer and filmmaker Chris Burkard, known for his ability to capture the raw beauty of Earth’s most extreme environments. The testing journey took Burkard and his team on a multi-day adventure to Iceland’s southern coast, where they navigated icy shorelines in search of the perfect break, using the Zero Tube to scan the winter swell before paddling out. From there, they explored the remote trails of Heiðmörk forest and the wild coastline of the Reykjanes Peninsula, proving how the Zero Tube is just as valuable for a quick scouting mission as it is for deep wilderness adventures.
“The Zero Tube is a perfect companion for serious adventures and a must in any outdoor enthusiast’s kit,” said Burkhard. “It really is a tool that furthers your ability to explore and take in your surroundings, and the combination of its compact size, quality optics and tough build make it so easy to bring along.”
