TREW Launches Into 2023 with The Sideways Life As New PR Agency of Record

January 12, 2023

PORTLAND, OR. /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – TREW, purveyors of stoke, and rugged purpose built outerwear, base layers and accessories with a style that communicates “hell yeah we’re the backcountry partner you want,” is partnering with The Sideways Life as its official agency of record for strategic public relations and communications.

Founded in 2009, TREW was born out of a garage in Hood River, Oregon, with a pair of ruggedly waterproof, lightweight and durable TREWth bibs, built for the backcountry, and available in bright hues of teal and purple. They built awareness driving their gnaRV from resort to resort, demoing out bibs, getting pitted in bottomless pow, and gathering in resort parking lots for tales from the mountain and the product feedback that helps fuel product innovations.

“TREW has a rich history of product expertise and innovation and we’re growing as an organization. As we build and expand our brand storytelling, with the recent launch of our STAY TREW brand platform, we’ve joined forces with The Sideways Life to put gas on the fire and keep building awareness of our brand stories, purpose-built product, and initiatives to share the stoke for pow days and good vibes with skiers and riders everywhere,” said Marketing Director Graham Wallace, a backcountry snowboarder who TREW snagged from Wieden & Kennedy, an award-winning advertising agency.

TREW’s mission is to make apparel that makes it easier for all individuals to have a damn good time in the mountains, because they believe that people who have positive experiences in the mountains are better stewards for the environment, happier people in their communities, and more motivated to make the world a better place.

TREW continues this close connection to the backcountry community today through brand initiatives, company hut trips and a unique hybrid direct-to-consumer business model with Evo as its exclusive retail partner, allowing TREW to continue to align the focus of design and development with the real needs of the backcountry community.

“TREW is gaining incredible momentum built on more than a decade of making purpose-built product for the backcountry and leaping forward with new marketing initiatives like the TREW to You community film project. The crew is thoughtful, dedicated and always up for a good time. Our shared values built on the flanks of Mt. Hood, grinning ear to ear, make this a perfect partnership,” said Rian Rhoe, Founder of The Sideways Life, a boutique PR & Marketing agency at the intersection of action sports, creative self-expression and the outdoors.
