A Bright Future for Knog and Darby Communications

September 22, 2020

US-based PR agency tapped to launch the world’s most powerful silicone headlamp

September 22, 2020 – Melbourne, Australia – Knog, the award-winning manufacturer of unconventional bike accessories and outdoor lighting products, is proud to announce its partnership with PR and Digital Marketing agency Darby Communications. Connected by a strong mutual relationship with Vancouver-based Eartheasy Distribution, Darby Communications will assist Knog with bolstering awareness of the new and disruptive Bilby 400 Lumen Silicone Headlamp.

Best known for its celebrated bike lights and accessories, Knog has created progressive, design-driven products since 2002. The Australian brand was founded by designer Hugo Davidson and engineer Mal McKechnie, who shared a vision to make “unboring” things. For the past 18 years, Knog has stood by this spirited motto, and has since expanded into the outdoor market with a line of futuristic silicone headlamps. Newest to the pack of marsupial-themed lighting accessories is the Bilby— the world’s most powerful silicone headlamp. What sets this headlamp apart? Its high-tech, versatile and modern design is unlike anything on the market. “We were thrilled when Eartheasy approached us about working with Knog to spread the word about this innovative product,” says Darby Communications Media Relations Director Suzanne Hermann. “Their team took a completely new approach in designing the Bilby, from the materials to the construction, and it shows – it’s totally unique. And who wouldn’t want to work with a brand that’s committed to making ‘unboring’ gear?”

Eartheasy, a leader in sales, marketing and distribution for brands in the outdoor and emergency preparedness markets, had a preexisting relationship with both Knog and Darby Communications. When tasked with increasing outreach and awareness of the Bilby headlamp in North America, Eartheasy recruited Darby for the project. “Given their track-record of success with product launches, bringing Darby on board for the Knog Bilby launch was an easy decision,” notes Aran Seaman, COO of Eartheasy Distribution. “We are all extremely excited to bring this revolutionary new headlamp to the North American outdoor market.”
