November 15, 2018

Highlights include award-winning Windweave Insulated Jacket, expanded urban jacket collection, and Polartec Power Air Fleece Technology

(LOS ANGELES)adidas Outdoor, the athletic brand in the outdoors, will debut proprietary technologies, expand its urban jacket collection and fuse the classic adidas three-stripe heritage into performance silhouettes in its apparel line for Fall 2019. Leading the line in innovation is PRIMEKNIT, an innovative body-mapped construction, and Polartec® Power Air Fleece, a new knit construction of individual air pockets that hold air, retain heat and minimize micro-fiber shedding.

“The introduction of PRIMEKNIT reinforces our commitment to being ahead of the trends,” said Greg Thomsen, managing director, adidas Outdoor, U.S. “PRIMEKNIT enables our designers to create body-mapped apparel with one continuous fiber and strategically place four-way stretch zones to provide the perfect blend of performance style and engineered stretch. In addition, we’ve ramped up our streetwear and outerwear offerings. Featuring a performance base but with an urban, fashionable outdoor vibe, these jackets are designed go from freezing winter streets to steamy subway tunnels with ease. Lastly, the apparel collection offers more branded down jackets, shells and waterproof pieces that have a fashion touch such, as three stripes on the hood, arm, or subtly on a pocket.”

With the PRIMEKNIT Climaproof Jacket, PRIMEKNIT Midlayer, and PRIMEKNIT Long Sleeve, adidas Outdoor brings knit into the traditional territory of wovens. adidas PRIMEKNIT, a lightweight and adaptive knitted textile offering a superior fit through a precisely engineered one-step process, is featured in the men’s and women’s PRIMEKNIT Climaproof Jacket ($225), PRIMEKNIT Midlayer ($185), and PRIMEKNIT Long Sleeve ($79). These styles are available July 2019 at retail and online.

Urban outdoor outerwear offerings include the Myshelter Rain Jacket ($230) for men and women, the men’s Itavic 3-Stripe 2.0 Jacket ($150), and the BSC Climaproof Rain Jacket ($90) providing fully waterproof, windproof and breathable protection for under $100. The Myshelter has an urban flare with sleek lines, with a longer hem in the back and the adidas three stripes in the middle of the back of the jacket.

The Windweave Insulated Jacket ($219), winner of the 2018 OutDoor Industry Gold Award, uses body mapped hybrid construction that combines durable double woven material and lightweight micro touch knit providing comfort where needed. The technology is visible with shaded coloring for an interesting visual look.

The premium Powerair Fleece Jacket ($179) features Polartec® Power Air, the first none brushed, low-shedding insulated material that sheds less than traditional brushed fleece, with a revolutionary knit construction of individual air pockets that form comfortable micro climates that hold air and retain heat. While the Inmotion Jacket ($169) featuring PRIMALOFT Gold Active+, and the Agravic Long Sleeve ($129) with Polartec® Alpha® and Polartec Power Dry®, are designed for warmth in worst weather conditions.
