Arc’teryx Welcomes Snowboarder Elena Hight to Global Athlete Team

February 1, 2021

Hight is the first female big mountain snowboarder to join the brand's global athlete roster

(Global) NORTH VANCOUVER, Canada, February 1, 2021– Arc’teryx Equipment, the global design company specializing in technical high-performance outerwear and equipment, welcomes snowboarder Elena Hight to the Arc’teryx athlete team.

Kauai born and Lake Tahoe raised, Elena Hight started her career in the world of competitive snowboarding. After two decades spent pushing to progress the sport, including two trips to the Olympics and seven X Games medals, Elena made the switch from competitions and into the backcountry. The transition to big mountain riding challenged Elena to try something outside of her comfort zone.

Elena’s pursuits have helped her reconnect with snowboarding and the mountains in a new way, while making her mark and landing in highly esteemed film projects including Blank Canvas, Full Moon, and Snowboarder Magazine’s Unconditional. Outside of snowboarding, Elena is passionate about getting people into nature and advocating for environmental protection through her work with Protect Our Winters.

“Arc’teryx’s commitment to making the best gear possible is unparalleled,” said Elena Hight. “I am looking forward to being a part of product development and providing input from a snowboarder’s perspective. I’m equally enthusiastic to partner with a brand that’s aligned with my personal values and is constantly striving to be a leader in the outdoor space.”

The Arc’teryx athlete program supports up-and-coming and well-established professional athletes by offering personal and professional development. As members of the Arc’teryx family, athletes trust Arc’teryx gear to perform when they need it most. Arc’teryx is proud to support a team of talented athletes and ambassadors dedicated to a range of mountain activities, including climbing, skiing, mountaineering, and snowboarding.

“We’re proud to welcome Elena to the Arc’teryx team,” said Justin Sweeny, Arc’teryx Global Athlete Manager. “Her perspective will be impactful as we continue to evolve and improve our product needs for women, snowboarders, and those looking for the best gear to get them outside. We’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
