CarbonTV’s Original Series American Elements Picks Up Two Prestigious Telly Awards

July 14, 2016

DETROIT, July 14, 2016 – CarbonTV’s breakout original series American Elements takes home two prestigious Telly Awards – one for the web series as a whole and a People’s Choice award for its standout episode featuring Travis Meadows, who Rolling Stone calls “Nashville’s most badass songwriter”.

“We’re honored to be recognized with not one, but two, prestigious Tellies for our original series American Elements,’ says Daniel Seliger, Executive Vice President of Content and Marketing at CarbonTV. “To earn this award among the industry’s finest speaks to the caliber of content CarbonTV produces, and we’re excited to continue advancing the way online video content is created and distributed.”

The American Elements series authentically profiles unique personalities from America’s heartland, such as Taya Kyle, wife of American Sniper Chris Kyle; Cameron Hanes, a prominent bow-hunting athlete; and Chuck Testa, a taxidermist and YouTube sensation. The awards come at the heels of new releases debuting later this month, which will feature mixed martial artist and avid outdoorsman Chad Mendes and Chris Soules, known as “Prince Farming” from Season 19 of ABC’s The Bachelor.

CarbonTV is a premium digital platform providing today’s video consumer with on-demand, free access to their favorite outdoor and rural lifestyle shows, including award-winning original programming. All content is available anytime, on-the-go, online and through the major OTT touchpoints, including iOS devices, Roku, Samsung Smart TV and XboxOne.

The Telly Awards were founded in 1979, and are the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV programs and commercials, the finest video and film productions as well as online video, films and commercials. Winners represent the best work by the most respected production companies, television stations, cable operators, advertising agencies, and corporate video departments in the world.

For its 37th season, The Telly Awards will once again give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards.  In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners.

A prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and member of The Silver Telly Council, judge the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather, entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10 percent of entries are chose as Winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “CarbonTV’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”
