Dovetail Workwear & Northwest Maritime Center Set Sail On ‘23/24 Partnership

September 5, 2023

Title Sponsorship & Dovetail-Hosted Events Kick Off the Announcement at 46th Wooden Boat Festival

PORTLAND, OREGON (September 5, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Dovetail Workwear – the Northern Hemisphere’s largest exclusively women’s workwear apparel company made by, for, and with women – is excited to announce its official partnership with the Northwest Maritime Center to continue to build community on and off the water, empower more women and BIPOC individuals in traditionally male-dominated trades, and celebrate the convergence of maritime tradition and modern innovation.

Based in Port Townsend, Washington, the Northwest Maritime Center uses powerful experiences on and around water to educate, inspire, and celebrate marine culture – including hosting the largest wooden boat festival in North America. With Dovetail Workwear as title sponsor this year, the 46th Wooden Boat Festival is scheduled for September 8-10 on the Olympic Peninsula, bringing people and families together to experience the magic of getting on the water, the beauty of wooden boats, learning from experts, and sharing knowledge within the nautical community.

This year’s festival is set to be a beacon of inspiration with the addition of the “Future of Maritime” tent, hosted by Dovetail Workwear, providing a safe & inviting space for all – with an emphasis on women and BIPOC individuals – to connect, learn, and engage each other throughout the 3-day event. Dovetail Workwear’s sponsorship of the Wooden Boat Festival aims to navigate a more inclusive and empowering future, where people’s talent, dedication, and passion can shine, unburdened by the constraints of outdated norms. Dovetail’s participation also includes a captivating fashion show on Saturday, September 9 at 4 pm, featuring styles from its highly anticipated Fall 2024 Collection including the new Freshley Thermal Dropseat Overall and Old School Reversible Work Jacket, modeled by female boat captains and crew. Additionally, a pop-up tent will offer festival attendees the chance to shop for Dovetail’s innovative apparel and gear.

Kate Day, co-founder of Dovetail Workwear, shared her perspective, “Our goal is to redefine workwear fashion, presenting a collection that seamlessly blends practicality with style. We believe that clothing should empower, not confine, and that’s why we showcase versatile and functional attire that empower women to excel in their craft without compromising their individuality.”

Dovetail will continue its sponsorship of the NW Maritime Center over the next year through its financial support of events, educational resources, and promotion of women in maritime trades.
