Huffy Releases New Primus Pro BMX Race Frame

DAYTON, Ohio – June 1, 2026 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Huffy, a United Wheels brand with over 130 years of expertise in the bike world, today announces the official launch of the Primus BMX Race Frame. The Primus marks the brand’s second professional-tier frame release since returning to competitive BMX in 2024.

The Primus is the result of more than 18 months of development with direct input from

Huffy BMX Factory Team racers. Three different prototypes were raced on the national stage, with the race team competing on final production frames at the 2026 Legacy Nationals in May. While the focus of last year’s Sledgehammer was on freestyle, the Primus is a dedicated race frame designed for the national and Olympic level.

The Primus has already seen podiums with Two-time Olympian Nic Long winning the USABMX Grand Nationals, Carly Kane winning a silver medal at the USAC National Championships, and Ethan Popovich making his first Elite Men Podium in his rookie season, a couple of weeks ago in Nashville, TN.

The Primus is constructed from 6061 T-6 aluminum, featuring a patent-pending captive external cable routing system for an internal look and easier maintenance. Additional technical features include toolless integrated chain tensioners, a tapered 1-1/8″ – 1.5” headtube, and a T47 bottom bracket to maximize stiffness and provide future-proof crank options.
