Jack Wolfskin’s Terraventure Texapore Hiking Boots: Small Footprint, Big Strides in Footwear Performance

April 5, 2022

The brand releases its first footwear offering chemical-free, breathable, waterproof protection for long-distance outings and multi-day tours.

Idstein, Germany (April 5, 2022) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Jack Wolfskin, the leading provider of sustainable outdoor gear and apparel, will introduce class-leading sustainable design to market with the Terraventure Texapore hiking boot.

The hiking boots, available in mid-ankle and low-ankle height, will eliminate PFCs from manufacturing while utilizing nearly 100% recycled materials that deliver sustainable design without sacrificing performance and comfort. The technical hiking boots will be manufactured with recycled and sustainably-sourced uppers, membranes, liners, midsoles, and outsole materials.

This release is just the initial step for Jack Wolfskin, a brand that aspires to eliminate PFCs from its entire footwear range by 2025. The Terraventure Texapore boot delivers water-repellent performance without utilizing chemical treatments. The upper is constructed with the brand’s proprietary Texapore Ecosphere membrane, a recycled, synthetic material made from post- and pre-consumer waste, and a comfortable recycled tricot lining. The cushioning EVA midsole comprises 30% sugar cane and 3% cork, while the Vibram outsole is derived from recycled rubber. Even the lace eyelets are fabricated from 76% recycled zinc.

For Jack Wolfskin, the attention is in the details for this new release. Wearers will notice that the comfortable EVA midsole delivers dynamic gait support and ergonomic design, ideal for long-distance outings and multi-day tours. Furthermore, the boot’s Vibram sole is excellent for versatile hiking conditions and features a tread pattern that provides a self-cleaning effect for better traction even in muddy conditions.

“Jack Wolfskin constantly strives to minimize the environmental impact of our products and establish more sustainable practices to guide the outdoor industry,” said Selim Say, Vice President of Footwear. “Durable construction, recycled materials, and chemical-free alternatives represent progress. The Terraventure Texapore boot is a special achievement that combines the best in performance features and the latest in sustainable manufacturing.”

The Terraventure Texapore, offered in two color options and a mid and low-cut version, will be available in men’s and women’s sizes and can be found at select retailers and us.jackwolfskin.com.
