KEENFEST comes to Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

June 18, 2019

KEEN shares their love of the outdoors with a celebration of food, drinks, games, a Ferris wheel, a healthy dose of business unusual and The Conservation Alliance’s 30th Anniversary.

PORTLAND, Ore. (June 18, 2019) – KEEN, Inc., (KEEN), the independently owned footwear brand on a mission to create original and versatile products, is bringing KEENFEST to Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in 2019. Join KEEN from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 18—19 for food, drinks, art, live music, prizes, and a spin on the KEENFEST Ferris wheel.

“We are really excited to celebrate our shared love of life outside with our industry friends and colleagues,” says KEEN General Manager Erik Burbank. “We created a space where we could combine art, music, food and drink into a festival that’s free to everyone at the show. It’s particularly noteworthy that this edition of KEENFEST features artists and installations that highlight the challenges associated with single-use plastics.”

A part of the awareness initiative at KEENFEST are four specially constructed huts made of recycled plastics, each one addressing a different topic linked to the impact of single-use plastics. As a member of the Plastic Impact Alliance working to spearhead the elimination of single-use plastic usage at Outdoor Retailers, one of those huts will be an on-site “advocacy hut” where people can sign the Plastic Impact Promise. The Plastic Impact Promise is a pledge for Outdoor Retailer attendees to promise not to use single-use plastic containers during their time at the show.

Day two of KEENFEST will host The Conservation Alliance’s 30th  Anniversary Party in celebration of its long-standing work to protect and restore America’s wild places. Join KEEN and other title sponsors Patagonia, The North Face, REI, and Merrell for the celebration in the KEENFEST lot.

“We’re pleased to join forces with KEEN to celebrate 30 years of bringing outdoor businesses together to help protect wild places,” said John Sterling, executive director of The Conservation Alliance. “Year after year, our members go above-and-beyond for conservation, and we look forward to celebrating with them.”

KEENFEST is located across from the Blue Bear at the Colorado Convention Center in The KEENFEST LOT (1417 California St., Denver). An Outdoor Retailer show badge is required for entry.

If you are unable to attend Outdoor Retailer but would still like to sign the Plastic Impact Promise and promise to go plastic-free from home during the show, you can do so here: www.snewsnet.com/plastic
