Ocean Cleanup Company 4Ocean Opens Austin Office

June 11, 2019

AUSTIN, TX (JUNE 11, 2019) – 4ocean, the mission-driven company that is working to solve the world’s ocean plastic crisis, announced today it is opening a new office in Austin, Texas.

With a focus on product development and digital marketing, the Austin office plans to add at least 25 new positions in the next year as part of the Boca Raton-based company’s ongoing expansion.

4ocean conducts global ocean and coastline cleanup operations that are primarily funded by product sales, including the iconic 4ocean bracelet. With this expansion of the company’s product development capabilities, the brand plans to release products that help people reduce their consumption of single-use plastic while also creating everyday goods that are made from repurposed materials collected in 4ocean’s global cleanup operations.

In addition to product development, the company is adding a number of digital marketing and ecommerce roles in Austin, tapping into the city’s rich talent pool. All roles will be based in the company’s new offices in the Penn Field development on South Congress Avenue.

“We’re stoked to expand our operations into Austin,” said 4ocean co-founder Andrew Cooper. “Building our product development and ecommerce capabilities will provide a huge boost in our mission to clean the ocean.”

The new office will be led by 4ocean’s Chief Marketing Officer, Corey Maynard, the former Vice President of Marketing for Austin-based YETI Coolers.

“I am excited to lead the 4ocean marketing team and the new Austin office in taking on the massive challenge of the ocean plastic crisis,” said Maynard. “It’s an honor to be a part of this company—cleaning oceans and helping stop plastic pollution at its source.”

Since its founding in 2017, 4ocean has removed nearly 5 million pounds of trash from the ocean and coastlines. The company currently employs more than 300 people in the U.S., Indonesia and Haiti.
