Osprey is pleased to announce support of CDTC leading up to 50th Anniversary of the National Scenic Trails Act next year

Cortez, CO Osprey Packs a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear, is pleased to announce their support of the Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC) leading up to the 50th Anniversary of the National Scenic Trails Act next year.

Osprey is donating funds raised through their Pack Sale and Happy Hour at last month’s Outdoor Retailer to CDTC. CDTC will use these funds to implement five volunteer projects along the Continental Divide Trail including Yellowstone National Park, Grand Lake Colorado, and Northern New Mexico. The project in New Mexico will open a new CDT segment in the Martinez Canyon area and will replace an eighty-mile road walk. In addition, funds will be earmarked towards hosting youth from CityWILD and Denver ELK’s program on an overnight adventure along the CDT near Grand Lake, CO.

“Good corporate citizenship and our brand values are as important as the technical outdoor products we design,” said Sam Mix, Conduit of Corporate Outreach. “Our work with CDTC reflects Osprey’s corporate commitment to increase opportunities for outdoor recreation and inspire people to enjoy the outdoors.”

In addition to the recent Outdoor Retailer efforts, Osprey also proudly supports CDTC’s mission with extensive financial and in-kind contributions in partnership with their Trail Adopter Program, Gateway Community Events, increasing advocacy for public lands through membership development efforts and increasing diversity and inclusion through support of CDTC’s first overnight youth event with their new partner, CityWild.

“CDTC is thrilled and honored to partner with Osprey in the stewardship and celebration of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail,” said Teresa Ana Martinez, Executive Director, Continental Divide Trail Coalition.  “It means so much to work with a partner that helps us not only complete the 3,100 mile long CDT, but build a diverse, passionate community committed to its ongoing stewardship. We couldn’t do our work without Osprey’s support, and for that, we are so grateful for our ongoing partnership.”
