‘Perfected’ Norrøna Down Jacket Featuring NASA Material Wins GearJunkie Best In Show Award

November 13, 2018

GearJunkie editors recognize Norrøna’s trollveggen ACE down950 Jacket as one of the 10 most innovative products announced at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market

DENVER (November 13, 2018) Norrøna, the Norwegian brand renowned for its premium, sustainably built outerwear, has received GearJunkie’s coveted Best In Show award for its trollveggen ACE down950 Jacket, which debuted last week at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. Combining a durable and weather-resistant face fabric with 950-fill, Responsible Down Standard 2.0-certified insulation, the trollveggen ACE down950 Jacket is “the belay-puffy perfected,” according to GearJunkie’s discerning editors.

“With so many boundary-pushing products announced last week, we’re especially proud to have this Norrøna jacket honored with a best in show award from the experts at GearJunkie,” says Adam Chamberlain, U.S. sales manager at Norrøna. “The jacket’s mix of cutting-edge textiles and premium goose down make it one of the most durable, warmest insulation pieces we’ve ever built.”

Built for hardcore alpinists, the trollveggen ACE down950 Jacket’s outer fabric is reinforced with Vectran fibers, the same liquid-crystal polyester threads used for their durability in NASA spacesuits, to stop the propagation of any tears. Featuring a polyurethane-coated face fabric, the trollveggen ACE down950 is completely windproof and water resistant. The exclusive RDS 2.0-certified 950-fill goose down offers superior warmth at a low weight and the laminated-baffle construction prevents down leakage.

The fit is athletic, enabling a broad range of motion, perfect when challenging both the cold and steep mountains. Other features of the trollveggen ACE down950 include practical hand-warming pockets, an insulating hood with a one-hand adjustment option and an inside pocket.

The trollveggen ACE down950 Jacket ($799) will be available Fall 2019 at norrona.com.
