Simond Joins Network of Brands Integrating RECCO Technology
June 12, 2026

New mountaineering pants mark the beginning of Simond’s commitment to making outdoor enthusiasts searchable by professional rescue teams
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (June 12, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ — RECCO, a global search and rescue technology, welcomes Simond to its growing network. The first Simond product featuring RECCO technology is the brand’s new mountaineering pants, designed to help make mountain enthusiasts searchable by professional rescue teams in the event of an emergency.
By incorporating RECCO reflectors into its products, Simond joins a global community of brands helping improve access to professional rescue technology for outdoor enthusiasts around the world.
RECCO reflectors are lightweight, passive transponders permanently integrated into outdoor apparel and equipment. Requiring no batteries, activation, or maintenance, they enable searchability by rescue teams equipped with RECCO detectors, including both handheld and helicopter-carried units. The technology helps rescuers locate missing or injured people in remote terrain and complements existing mountain safety equipment and rescue procedures. The RECCO SAR Helicopter Detector, which can search up to a square kilometer in six minutes under optimal conditions, has fostered RECCO’s growth into a year-round search tool.
“We are honored to welcome Simond to the RECCO family,” says Fredrik Steinwall, CEO of RECCO. “Every new brand that integrates RECCO technology helps expand awareness of searchability and contributes to making more outdoor enthusiasts searchable worldwide. Simond has a strong heritage in mountaineering, and we are excited to see them bringing this added layer of safety to their customers.”
The new mountaineering pants are the first step in a broader rollout of RECCO technology across the Simond product range. The company plans to introduce additional products featuring integrated RECCO reflectors in the coming months, reinforcing its commitment to mountain safety and rescue preparedness.
“At Simond, safety is at the heart of everything we do,” says Elise Georget, Product Manager at Simond. “RECCO technology was a natural choice because it offers a simple and effective way to support rescue operations while requiring no action from the user. Integrating RECCO reflectors into our products is part of our broader strategy to improve passive safety for mountain enthusiasts.”
The RECCO rescue network continues to expand globally, with the system now used by search-and-rescue organizations in more than 900 locations across 32 countries. As RECCO continues to grow its detector infrastructure and helicopter-based search capabilities throughout Europe, North America, Nepal and New Zealand, more outdoor enthusiasts are becoming searchable in more places.
The new Simond mountaineering pants are available now in stores and online. Additional Simond products featuring integrated RECCO technology, including all-season pants, expedition down jackets, and waterproof jackets, are expected to launch by the end of 2026.
