Stio Launches Expanded Winter Collection For All Modes of Mountain Life

October 26, 2018

JACKSON, Wyo. (October 26, 2018) – Inspired by life in Jackson Hole, Stio is on a mission to provide a refreshing choice in outdoor wear. Stio apparel is made to do it all, from epic adventures in the Tetons to walking the kids to the bus stop in negative temps to après after a day on the mountain –  the brand is creating versatile, technical apparel that doesn’t compromise style for performance.

“This season we’re launching a number of new styles, expanding signature programs and freshening up classic Stio favorites,” said Noah Waterhouse, chief marketing officer at Stio. “The whole line is rooted in technical performance and we continue to push the narrative of mountain lifestyle apparel by integrating inspirational color, bolder prints and fashion-forward silhouettes.”

The award-winning Environ ski program expands again this year with the introduction of the new Men’s Environ XT Jacket. The XT is built with the same 3L Dermizax® waterproof/breathable fabric as the rest of the collection, but offers a streamlined design and less-is-more feature set. The XT includes high-set, oversized hand pockets for easy access when wearing a pack and with the elimination of a powder skirt, the XT is sleek enough to stow when on the move. Cohaesive™ cord-lock technology on the hood and hem allow for one-handed adjustments and two-way underarm zip vents ditch excess heat, making the XT ideal for the purist looking for resort, sidecountry and backcountry performance.

The Hometown Down Collection has been updated this season with new prints and baffle sizes. Inspired by the local flora and fauna of Wyoming, the new prints feature Whitebark Pine Cones, Braken Fern and Indian Paint Brush, all plants found in Stio’s back yard. The Women’s Parka and Vest have narrower baffles to stabilize the 800-fill, AlliedFeather™ HyperDRY™ water-repellent goose down and offer a refreshing touch of mountain style.

Expanding into the techleisure category, Stio has released a number of new pieces designed for off-duty athletes. Packed with technical performance while offering premium comfort and style, the Women’s Gannett Peak Pant is a perfect pre- and post-activity pant. It is built with the same luxurious Karushi® Fleece as its counterparts, the Gannett Peak Hooded Jacket and the Gannett Peak Half Zip, and comes in a flattering jogger silhouette with an elastic drawcord waistband. It is also available for men. The Women’s Skycrest Insulated Snap Skirt is made to throw on over leggings and baselayers after a day on the mountain. Available in a custom Teton Camo and Bandana print and made with Thermore® EcoDown® insulation and Pertex® Quantum mini-ripstop outer fabric, the Skycrest Skirt offers just enough tech and style for the everyday mountain town hustle.

Stio releases a new interpretation of microfleece, the original mountain town essential, with the introduction of Turpin Fleece. The collection includes 6 styles for men and women: the classically cut Turpin Pant and Half Zip and the modern-silhouetted Women’s Funnel Neck and Men’s Crew. The tonal organic colors and western heritage details make for a contemporary approach to this classic microfleece fabric. Fervos™ microfleece fabric is made from a sustainable REPREVE® fiber, which is certified, traceable and 100% recycled from post-consumer plastic water bottles.

The Skyrider Jacket, available in both men’s and women’s styles, is a low-profile, lightly insulated, technical layer with a design that is inspired by the classic bomber jacket. Combining recycled Thermore® EcoDown® insulation and a Pertex® Quantum mini-ripstop shell with a streamlined design, the Skyrider is ideal for travel and seamless transitions between the city and the mountains.

Inspired by Wyoming’s ranching heritage, Stio introduces the new Beira Wool Coat for men and women. Refined and rugged, this piece is a sophisticated take on the classic wool coat. Offering longer length and full coverage with a soft, durable TechnoWool® face fabric and a brushed microfleece interior, the Beira is a premium package for elevated mountain style.
